Since we were talking about scary things....may I recommend
"Midnight Mass" on Netflix? Written and directed by Mike
Flanagan. ("Dr. Sleep" "The Haunting of Hill House" and
"Gerald's Game")
Totally mesmerizing. The first couple of episodes lay the
groundwork and character backgrounds but even those have
incredible performances and cinematography. Then it really
takes off with the chills, but on a more, well, philosophical
level? I'm not finished with it yet, but damn. This is good.
So far. :)

Yay, thanks for the positive review! I'd previously asked if
anybody was watching & youre the first one so far.
I've been saving it to watch closer to Halloween (I rewatched
Hill House to celebrate last Halloween because it was so
good/creepy). 🎃

We started Mosquito Coast thinking it would be like the movie.
So far, not like the movie at all except for the presence of
mosquitos. It's really really dark and Justin Theroux's
character is confusing. I'd give it a B - watch it if you're
bored.
We are also in season 2 of Ted Lasso and it's all over the
place. The Christmas episode was so cheesy but some of the ones
since then have been really well done. Marcus Mumford has killed
it with the music so far.

I love me some Twilight Zone. I was delighted when I learned the
Tower of Terror at Disney Hollywood Studios is Twilight Zone
themed. I hope they never change it.
Rick indulged me last night and we watched some of the Brittany
Murphy documentary looking into her death. I'll be honest, it is
not a great documentary, though the topic is interesting. They
keep flashing to these You Tube people who generated a lot of
content talking about Brittany's death and the weird
circumstances around it while simultaneously doing a makeup
tutorial. They are some of the planet's more irritating
inhabitants.
They are also out to slay her husband - it is not objective in
any way. We only have 15 minutes left in the 2nd episode - which
may be the whole thing. Not sure if they are releasing more.
What's everyone else watching? We are going to finish Ted Lasso
and be lost and in need of something new.

Plus, I finally watched Promising Young Woman. I watched it
twice already. Not an easy movie to watch but an excellent
movie.

We're watching The Bureau, a French spy thriller TV
series.
We missed it when it came out in 2016, but are watching on DVDs
from the library. Seasons 1 and 2 so far are very good.

"American Horror Story: Coven."
It's more entertaining than scary; compared to the dark & creepy
Murder House and Asylum seasons, this is very light stuff.
Queenie is one of the witch characters: cracks me up any time
someone says her name.

I'm currently watching Doom Patrol on HBOMax. It's DC comics,
which is normally blah for me. However, it has Brenden Fraser
(hilarious in his role, so glad he's back), Matt Bomer, and
more. I was skeptical, but now I'm hooked.

This sounds right up our alley. DC Comics is usually so dark and
depressing but if there is some comedy involved it sounds
promising. Thanks for the recommendation!
