Well, it happened again.
I was walking with Ziva this morning, and a guy who lives about
3 blocks away asked, "I thought you had 2 dogs. What happened to
the other one?"
It's been 18 months since the kid died and a few months since
anyone asked that particular question. I realize it happens
because I'm the only white guy in the neighborhood, and I'm one
of a very few people who actually walk dogs around here. But
it's really quite remarkable that so many people remember
Dakota.

So Ziva and I were playing our favorite game where I shoot the
ball at her with the hockey stick. She's amazingly good at
catching balls shot from less than 5': left, right, high, low;
nothing matters; she's like a vacuum. With her, it's always a
2-ball game (hey! minds out of the gutter). She won't drop one
until I'm getting ready to shoot the other one. Anyway,
sometimes I want her to run, so I lob one over her head toward
the other end of the yard. She just watches the first ball fly.
Then she starts running as soon as I put the blade on the second
ball because she knows where it's going.
Clever girl.

That sounds awesome: I demand to see a vid of the hockey stick
ball game.
(Pretty please ?)

It requires another person to work the camera. I'm working on
it.

I don't know. Dogs might have all the sayings, but cats have
clearly conquered the internet. Plus there was that whole
worshipped as gods in Egypt thing - I bet that required a good
publicist.

Poor girl! One of our rescue kittens had roundworm. Treated him,
and all was fine.
