It's still there. She really didn't know what to do with it.
It's like a ball, but she couldn't get her teeth around it.

Our current "big snow" was just starting as I got home from
work. And as I am obliged to do, I spent some time outside with
Ziva: about 5 minutes; 6 tops. Enlarging helps see just how much
snow attached itself to her. I swept her off with a broom. She
wasn't happy about that. (But she let me.)

I think this means something important:
I used to sing to my dogs all the time, just little doggerel I'd
make up as I went along. I'd sing to them at mealtime, on walks,
when we were lying quietly together, when I was getting them out
of bed in the morning, playing in the yard. It started within a
day or two of Dakota being in my life. I haven't really been
singing to Ziva since Dakota died.
Until the past few days. I heard myself singing Ziva out of bed
and singing as I got her dinner ready. I was just singing to her
outside in the snow.
I think this means something important.

I bet Dakota realized that Ziva missed your serenades & nudged
you subliminally to start singing songs to her again.*
*(That's what I would say if I believed in fairytales and
magical thinking (and guess what: I believe in fairytales,
especially when animals are involved).)✨

She’s just such a lovely girl. I wish she lived closer. She and
Betty Jolene could romp in the backyard all day.

Oh man, that Petula Clark song - it was something we listened to
all the time in junior high school. I have vivid memories of
listening to that in gym class while we were playing ping pong.
Great memories and yes, I'm old.
