This is Ziva after standing in the falling snow for about 5
minutes. Make it larger for better detail.

There's my fave winter color combo: white snow on black Lab.
⛄
(I'd not known she was so much taller than D: I need to watch
the frozen Lake vid on my phone to see if I can tell who's who
this time.)

Ziva is so tall and lovely.
She makes LCP look like a miniature.
She's about 4" taller than Dakota was, and D was a more pure
Lab, I think. Z goes about 85 lbs and is right around her ideal
weight. LCP will get there.
I'm not complaining. LCP is an astoundingly good example of her
breed and variety, English Lab. She's about 19 inches at the
withers and right around 70 lb and could lose maybe five pounds
tops. I could not be happier. I was just remarking on all of
the different ways a lab can be lovely.

Looking at English Labs, I'd say Dakota was more like them, and
she was at her best between 60-65 pounds. Ziva definitely has
something else in her bloodline in addition to being
predominantly Lab.

Ziva is on the left. Dakota's tail is how it almost always was.

When I opened this file and started to post, I got this cool red
box warning me that this file had been unused for over 120 days
and suggesting that I start a new thread.
It kinda makes me want to go post on other ancient threads just
to see that box again.

4º in my backyard at 10:00 pm. Even a Lab like Ziva knew enough
to pee and come right back inside.

You did it. You opened that creaky, dusty chest in the corner
and you activated the curse. Now all sorts of eldritch spirts
will haunt you on this cobwebbed thread.
Why else would you be... warned? About, say, letting sleeping
dogs lie?
Mr. Hastings wanted out and I forgot to check how cold it was.
-18 with -40 wind chill advisory. Not the weather I let an older
dog with coat issues out in without a coat. Didn't keep him out
more than a minute but he was limping keeping a foot warm when
he came in.
I think he won't argue with me about using the pee pads
downstairs tonight. They're for nights like this. Just way too
many nights like this, I need six more dogs just to stay warm.

My rottie mix came out a fake "blab" type. He had just traces of
white on chin, under tail and paws (St Johns dog like marks
which some labs do have.) The white on chin grew with age. He
had a curly tail and pink tongue and a much more leggy build.
And he knew how to strut his looks.

But Ziva looks a little something else, maybe some hound. It is
possible she's a hunting strain lab, many apparently pure labs
have been bred for houndy build for upland (dry) hunting. A
pretty rescue pup, as so many rescue pups are once in a good
home.
