Ziva

On August 18, 2013, a true idiot abandoned a dog in Baton Rouge.
A friend of mine who was in grad school at LSU found her, spent
about $400 in vet bills to clear up infections and internal
parasites. A few weeks later, Dakota and I went to LA for a
vacation/visit, and we hit it off with this special little dog.

At the end of the week, we decided to bring her home. We left
Baton Rouge on Labor Day (which happened to be 9/2 that year),
and we arrived home in Chicago the following day.

I always count Labor Day as our anniversary. I'm celebrating 8
years with Ziva today.

A few weeks later, some guy from Texas (guy had the same last
name as TV Ziva's boss, ironically enough) got in touch with my
friend in Red Stick. He said that he left the dog with his
sister who happened to live in the same apartment complex as my
friend. It was his sister who put the dog outside and abandoned
her. He kept calling her NutNut, which might be the stupidest
name for a dog ever.
My friend told Gibbs that she was safe in Chicago in a canine
protection program, and she wasn't called that stupid name
anymore. He said he wanted her back, and she started to itemize
the $400 she spent at the vet. That was the last she heard from
not-agent Gibbs.

I'm so glad she ended up with you. I know there are stupid and
cruel people everywhere but I hate that this particular idiot
was in Baton Rouge. Happy anniversary.

The idiot was in Texas, so you're off the hook. His sister in LA
was just overwhelmed by my 80 pound beauty.

I'm glad you cleared that up. I had read it as though the woman
in La. had put her out on the streets.

Well, she did, but she had the poor dog dumped on her.

I'm a sucker for a story with a happy ending.
And that's one fab story.
