       Our Kitty Floofs

DH and I have two cats: an affectionate eight-year-old male void
(black cat) who used to be bitey but has settled down as he's
grown older, though he's still easily spooked; and a
four-year-old female tortie-tabby (tortoiseshell colors, but
with stripes) who's sweeter-natured but very food-focused. They
get along pretty well, but don't sleep in a puddy tat pile. It's
fun watching them take turns sneaking up on each other.
I will add photos when I've downloaded some from my phone. Their
names are Gilbert (black) and Ginger (tortie-tabby). We love
       them to bits.

Both lovely cats. I could only like the images, not love them,
because my five will have their revenge if I love someone else's
       cats, sorry.

Gilbert and Ginger say "Thank you, and we understand your
       predicament." ;)

       So precious!
The last of my elderly cats died just about a year ago. Although
I planned to adopt another pair, I decided to wait because of
the medical treatments I was going through. It just occurred to
me this afternoon that I can probably plan on looking now that
I'm done with all that (to the extent that anyone can know
that). I was browsing the shelter's website today and there are
lots of cats needing homes right now. It hasn't felt right
without some furry companions, and I hope to remedy that over
the course of the next several weeks.

Gilbert is throwing up too much lately. I'm taking him to the
       vet tomorrow. Mojo gladly welcomed!

Good luck finding your perfect pair, NoLongerAubergine.
       💖😻
I was at the shelter Thursday and yesterday. I have been saying
since March, when son took Ollie, that we're good with the two
we have. But for some reason I was prompted to look at the local
shelter's website, and saw a young boy that caught my eye. He
was being neutered on Thursday so I couldn't meet him. I went
back late on Sunday, and he and his brother had just been
adopted maybe 5 minutes before I arrived. As much as I had
wanted to meet him, I was so glad to hear that he was adopted
with his brother. To be honest, I went late on purpose because
deep down I was hoping something like that would happen and I
wouldn't be tempted to take him. I'm not sure if we should take
another, especially a kitten, in. For all the same reasons I
stated before I adopted Mia almost 3 years ago and Ollie a year
ago! Yeah, I have little resolve when it comes to kitties.
Part of me says "things are good as they are", the other part
says "Sasha and Mia need a brother." Sasha and Mia get along
ok, but they don't love each other, don't cuddle. Three years
later they're still figuring out if they're playing or fighting.
It took Sasha a very long time to accept Mia, a month later she
was still hissing, yet with Ollie, she bolted into his room and
tried to cuddle on the first day.

Wow, my post disappeared! I had written a whole thing about my
visits to the shelter Thursday and yesterday, and blabbered on
about whether or not I should adopt another cat. I'm not going
to recreate the post, but suffice it to say I'm torn between
being good with the two we have, who I love to pieces, and still
wanting another cat. Mr. rolls his eyes at me, [s]thinks
       [/s]knows I'm nuts, but I know he'll be fine with whatever I
       decide.
Anyway, good luck finding your next kitties. Looking forward to
       seeing pics.
