It’s been a while since I bought puppy toys, but I had a couple
of toys that were made for putting water bottles into. The
squeaked and can be thrown and you don’t have to worry about
plastic getting ripped and cutting the puppy.
Something like these:

Thanks, Buttercup! Fortunately, he can't quite sink his teeth
into the plastic bottles. He gives it the college try, but
mostly his teeth slide across it. 🤭🤣

When I first got Dakota, I took her to my sister's house when I
went to have lunch with my dad. She has a full yard, a total
lot. Two bites into the hot dog, my phone rings. It's someone
calling to tell me that Dakota just walked into their garage to
say hello. They lived across the street from my sister. Next
time, I leave her in the yard, walk through the house to put
something in my car, and she's standing by the car door grinning
at me. So I send my nephew out to hide in the yard and leave
Dakota to walk through the house again.
She used a downspout to gain about 4", enough to reach the top
of a 3' chain link fence. Then she jumped on the fence and
pushed off the house with her hind legs to get over the fence.
Not even 10 seconds. They're way more clever than we are.

I used to live next door to the canine incarnation of Houdini.
My favorite moment was when she climbed a tree to get over the
fence -- so she could run around the house and sit, grinning, on
the front step until someone rang the doorbell to let the owners
know she'd escaped AGAIN.

Just for you, [member=5]muskrat[/member], here are two shots of
my favorite sweater of his. He has outgrown it (☹), but
can probably still squish into it in case of an emergency.

Today's Cy gif ... he objects to the direction I've chosen
(homeward) and is stallllllllling.
Also pix from today so you can see his look, including one on a
stoop (of course).

OMG Loving the snood !!! SO funny: I;ve never seen a dog wearing
a hood 🤣
But wait: only one bootie? Or did he hurt his foot? Maybe all
that rolling around on the astro turf crunched his paw.

I gotta ask: Did you get a whippet *because* you can dress them
up?
He looks very elegant. More elegant than quite a few humans.
