Perhaps I did not make myself clear enough. I did not watch the
video beyond the brief intro. I had understood that it was
mainly about people objecting to being filmed. In the U.S.,
there is no expectation of privacy in public spaces. In
addition, businesses are allowed to set rules for conduct within
their walls. I have no idea what the rules are in the UK for the
specific space they were in. If there was more to it than that,
I did not see it. And I did not see any reason to get
emotionally invested without some basic facts, which from other
descriptions of the video it seemed were not provided. I wasn't
       up for that.
       [/quote]
Exactly. I probably watched more than you but what I saw looked
set up. If the guy is simply someone who films himself playing
in public and responding to the crowd the why did he say several
times look at the Japanese people over there. At that point the
people, Chinese as it turns out, we’re totally minding their own
       business.

Yeah, a bit of assholery from all, but I assume that he had
permission from the station to play there, and film. Many people
were filming and no one knows what they did with their videos.
So he likely was very much within his rights to play and film.
The group saw him filming for quite a while before they told him
to stop. They had the option to move away or turn away.
Approaching him the way they did just ensured they were going to
       be filmed close up.
But, once they asked him not to film them, he could have tried
to accommodate them, change the camera angle, not film them
intentionally. I can understand not promising them anything, but
he could have made an attempt. They could have agreed that he
would film facing one way, and they would stand out of the
       camera's view.
He did make assumptions about their identities - at first saying
they were a group of Japanese people, then wouldn't let go of
the Communist China aspect. At the very least he judged them
based on their Asian appearance. I looked up the flag issue. It
was the Chinese flag, not the communist Chinese flag. So he was
wrong there, being racist and intentionally escalating the
       issue.
He also was escalating things with the police officer further
than I think he needed to go. But he had a point about not
turning off the camera, especially when she said there was an
       allegation against him.
I would put it at about 80% assholery on the part of the
tourists, 20% on the part of the musician. But bottom line, and
without knowing the British laws on this, I say he was in a
public place, and people have limited privacy rights in public
places. No one made them stand exactly where they were, even if
the group had agreed to meet between those stores and were
holding the flags so other members could locate them. There was
plenty of space in the general area which would have placed them
away from the filming while they still remained visible to
others who might be looking for them.
Also, his playing was excellent, and it was fun when the other
guy walked up and just joined in. The talent is very evident.

That's the flag of the People's Republic of China in the video.
The flag of the Republic of China has blue in the first quarter

I watched this one earlier. We also watched another youtuber
with some pretty good analysis of what happened and also shared
the woman's youtube video where she's going on with blatant lies
       about some things he said.
If the group was truly there to also play the piano, they failed
       to mention it to him.
I've seen a number of Brendan's videos and it seems there's
always someone from the crowd that joins in. Either with their
own instrument, playing the piano next to him or dancing.

Indeed. I checked out some of his videos to get a sense of what
he usually does for content too. He was positively interacting
with people who showed interest in the videos I watched.

Brendan has a spoof of "Don't Touch Her" which is pretty
