Re: List of top science fiction movies (Rolling Stone)

Personally I didn’t care much for the Hunger Games but it’s
partly because I’ve lost interest in dystopian fiction. It’s too
close to real political life right now. But the first was
definitely the best. I’m not sure why I even watched the other
two.

I think that's why I like it. It feeds my sense of doom and
gloom.

I read the books so I couldn't miss the movies. I agree the
first one is the best. Splitting the final into 2 movies was
just a money grab.

Anything that features technology that does not currently exist
can be categorized as Sci-Fi. As does anything that features and
relies heavily on specific scientific/technical creations that
COULD exist if someone wanted to build them and are part and
parcel of the storyline.
By both those measures, The Hunger Games should make the list.
When I started writing this post, I had another movie in mind
too but by the time I got to this point... bye bye thought.
Maybe I will find it again later.
Note: It should be clear that it is technology and not magic. HP
and the moving staircases and the room of requirement do not
qualify.

I'm still waiting on my flying car. There is absolutely no

Maybe Divergent, Maze Runner or Mortal Engines? I may have
missed those in the list but I don't remember seeing them.

I've seen how people drive. I don't want them behind the wheel
of a flying car.

I'm well aware of the quote. That is why I said "clear" as to
which one it is.
