Stellar "eclipse"
By: Tryp_OR Date: December 9, 2023, 10:51 pm

Anyone living near Miami or Key Largo?
On Monday night at about 8:15 pm EDT (8:17 is the time given in
several articles), an asteroid will pass in front of Betelgeuse,
the red star that is one of Orion's shoulders. (This is strictly
called an occultation, not an eclipse.) The star should
disappear or dim for as long as 10 seconds. Probably slightly
freaky to see in real life.
