Count me in on the classics sung in the traditional manner. I
love listening to someone sing the old hymns that were standards
in the Lutheran Church I attended as a kid 60 or so years ago.
Lutherans know how to sing.
Others that can get to me are Ave Maria, O Holy Night and many
of the others that have been mentioned here.

Louis Armstrong and the Commanders, 'Zat You, Santa Claus?
1953 recording. This was a favorite in my mom's family and it
wasn't really Christmas until it was played. On a very worn 45,
then a homemade tape from the 45 because it was obviously
wearing out.
Then the makers of the movie Driving Miss Daisy wanted to use it
in the film, so they also remastered it in 1989 and a few CDs
have been released with it. Sounds so much better now.
Whoever put it on YouTube translated the title to standard
English as "Is that you, Santa Claus?" but it was "'Zat You..."
on the 45.

I have a CD which is a compilation of Christmas songs by The
Three Tenors. I know they’ve fallen out of favor due to various
allegations but I still love the CD because the singing is
beautiful.
I also have Judy Collins doing a concert at The Biltmore which I
love.
Finally I have a CD with an assortment of older artists (Patsy
Cline, Bing Crosby, etc) that I like. Along with an instrumental
CD, these are the 3 that I always play at Christmas time.

Speaking of Bing ...
I love I'll Be Home for Christmas.
He recorded it in 1943 when my parents were in their late teens
so I always imagine them listening to it on the radio.
I spent six christmases away from home when i was living
overseas, so this song always makes me remember those lonely
holidays when i was missing my family.

I'll start by saying that in general I don't care for Christmas
music. I'm sick of it by the time December rolls around. Ok, ok,
there are a few songs that I find tolerable. I still like Winter
Wonderland, but it's a winter song, not a Christmas one.
But I do love love love Transiberian Orchestra stuff. Saw them
live twice. They are fantastic, put on one hell of a show.
For example:

(They had nothing to do with this light show, but it's
incredible so I used this version of the song from YouTube)

omg : Dominic the Christmas Donkey is appallingly obnoxious.
2000 miles is fantastic: sounds just like dark snowy winter
nights to me.

Yes. The problem isn't that the Christmas music isn't good, the
problem is they start playing it too early. Nonstop ANY music
for a straight month is going to be too much.
