Tacha cats

I've mentioned before that Junko is diabetic and has been
awesome with the shot and all. Took her in today for a quick
check-in on her blood sugars and teeth. She is smack dab in the
normal range for cats, even having had the steroid shot last
month, so the vet thinks we can now just control her with diet
after we take her teeth out. So in three weeks, I'll take Junie
back for the extraction and after that we'll just keep her on
the prescription diet and let the vetsulin go. She's staying on
the vetsulin for now, though, because we gave her more steroids
to keep her comfortable until school is out and I can take her
in.
I'm really, really pleased because even though we've gone from
one unit 2x/day to once a day, getting her away from the others
so I can give her the bribe and injection has been a minor pain.
This will definitely make things easier for the pet-sitter,
too.
Took senior cat in on the same visit. He apparently has an ear
infection, so six drops of Tresaderm in each ear 2x/day for a
week. Sigh.

My experience with multiple cats is that it never ends. There
was always one that needed something special and either they or
the other cats weren’t happy about it.
Good news though!

Junko is now safely at the vet, so I can put food down for the
rest of the horde, who insist that they haven't had a sniff of
food since 1997. Given that none of them were born in '97, I'm
taking that as an exaggeration.
Vet had been closed since Thursday, and holy cow, were there
cars parked EVERYWHERE! They had me parked right in front of
the dumpster, in a no parking zone. Ten cars couldn't even get
into the parking lot -- they were all on the verge in front of
the clinic's fence.
Thank goodness I was just a drop-off, because I don't see that
line moving very quickly at all. The vets are very popular.

Just picked Junko up and there are STILL people parking on the
verge. There are signs on all the doors saying they've hit
capacity.
Poor girl had 9 teeth pulled and isn't supposed to eat until
tomorrow. She's really needing a lap sit, and she is NOT a lap
cat, so I'm pinned at the computer for a while.

Aw, poor baby, poor you! Mojo for both of you. I hope Junko is
back to normal after the chow embargo is lifted.
