I had a cat that would bring "presents." We lived in an
apartment with outside stairs up to our door. At first I thought
the little bits of trash that we found on our doorstep got there
by the wind. Then one day I saw him walking through the parking
lot with a piece of letter size paper in his mouth. He trotted
right up the stairs and dropped the paper and made his little
unique cry. That was over 30 years ago and I still miss that
       little Smokey Dokey Boy.

I love this story. I saw something similar before and found it:

Little weirdos. Cannonball hides her toys for me to find and
       bring back to her.
I bought her new mousies last week since she had finally ripped
up her last one. The new may wear off, but she likes these more
than any others I have bought before. I think she likes the
soft and nubby textured fabric. She's been acting plain silly
       over them.

SBD - I remember reading about a dog who brought things home -
including a full rack of ribs. Not sure this was the specific
one I remembered, but an example. Considering what my husky
goes through to get a dog treat from our neighbor that is the
size of a single M&M, she'd probably sell me down the river for
       a full rack of ribs.

What a thoughtful kitty who really loves her human, even if
       human doesn't show much appreciation.
