       Poppy Seed Cake

       (from my mother, from her mother, from her neighbor Olivia
       Hollister)
       Flour mixture:
       3 cups all-purpose flour
       1/2 cup (approx. 2 oz.) poppyseeds
       1/2 cup chopped walnuts
       1 tsp. salt (I omit this)
       1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
       Egg mixture:
       2 cups sugar
       1 1/4 cups oil (I use safflower oil)
       4 eggs
       1 13-oz. can evaporated milk
       Mix flour mixture in one bowl
       Using big bowl, mix eggs and sugar and add oil.  Alternately add
       milk and the flour mixture until all are blended.  Bake in
       well-greased angelfood pan at 350 degrees F for 1 hour 15
       minutes.  Oil take a bit of mixing to blend with the eggs.
