She's really lovely, Billie. And I'm glad she's social enough
to come out and sniff at Mr. already.

I'm pretty sure she has a name but I'm waiting to see if it
sticks. It is not a name on the list.
She comes out when I call and shake her little feather toy. She
purrs like crazy and climbs all over me. I'm able to pick her
up without panic. She jumped all over me last night in bed.
She caught sight of Sasha under the door a couple of times and
the last time did not growl. I'm starting to play with her near
the door so they get a better chance too "see" each other.
There is an inch of viewing between it and the floor.
Sasha on the other hand is not handling this well. She has been
throwing up non stop since yesterday. I have seen dried leaves
in her vomit so I think it's not all about the stress. She
catches sight of her when I open the door and she hisses. I
have spent a fair bit of time with the little one over the last
48 hours so I'm going to try to even it up today.

Sasha is going to the vet tomorrow morning. As far as we can
tell she has kept nothing down since Saturday... Possibly even
Friday. And today she has scratched herself bald on one side of
her neck. I'm really worried about her.
I'm assuming it's stress over the kitten and it breaks my heart
that we have caused her this much stress. Given how she was
when we came to us and the fact she came from a cattery and was
a Mom both the breeder and I thought she would accept a new
kitten fairly easily. I have never seen an existing cat react
like this over dozens of introductions in my lifetime.
ETA. Mr. Got Sasha to eat a couple of tablespoons of kibble.
We looked everywhere for vomit and none to be found. As of
11pm, she has kept it down for 4 hours. So happy. Still
taking her to the vet tomorrow morning.

Sasha threw up at 1am. But she would have gotten it basically
digested so she got some nutrients into her. She ate at 8:30am
and so far it's staying down. The vet gave her anti-nausea
meds. We are to take her back if she throws up in the next 24
hours. We declined the appetite stimulant drugs for now. I
don't want to go down that path right now and the vet was fine
with that given she had started eating on her own.
She is already back down to 6 lbs. This is after spending a
month or more trying to get her weight back up to 7lbs from 5.6
lbs. We had made it to 6.7 lbs last week.
She also has a minor ear infection so we are treating that too.

Maybe the ear infection is the root of the digestive and
appetite issue. Hope she’s ok soon.
(And I also hope you don’t mind that I semi-hijacked your kitten
       thread with our foster news.)

I would guess that it's related - new kitten stress + ear
infection stress = nauseous kitty. Fingers crossed that she
       adjusts and heals quickly!

       Her name is Nori.
It means little one. Apparently in Hebrew it means peaceful.
Given her antics over the last 24 hours, peaceful will not be in
our lives for some time. She is quite the character.

A lovely name. And she will grow into the Hebrew meaning
       eventually.
Hoping Sasha is doing better with the anti-nausea meds and
antibiotics for the ear infection. I'd try slipping her some
high-calorie, high-value treats at some point when Nori is
otherwise occupied. It will help get her weight back up and
remind her that you still value her, too.

If you want to give her some kitty crack cocaine, 😁,
check out Delectables Squeeze Ups. The shelter uses them to get
scared cats used to people. They can’t resist them. Got some for
LB and he was eating out of my hand and then rewarding me with
rubs and purrs. This was when he was still generally hiding
under the bed. Using these was the turning point for him wanting
physical contact. He actually slept in the bed with Sasha and me
       for part of last night.
       Here’s a link. They’re available at many places-pet stores,
       Walmart, chewy, etc.
