       Cat baby girl to be.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
I reached out to the breeder asking if he still had spring
kittens available fully expecting him to say he didn't since I
waited until mid-March. Incredibly enough a little calico was
born to Sasha's daughter Callie two days after I called. I love
calicos and didn't think I would be able to find one after I
lost Frankie. They are not common and often kept by the
breeder. Since this breeder already has a calico (Callie), she
is available. I have first dibs on her meaning if she continues
to thrive and is healthy, I will have another baby girl.
Below is her at a week old. I will be making a trip to Chicago
to pick her up in mid-June. This is will be something to look
forward to while I recover from my next surgery.

how cute! I hope that you're able to pick her up with no issues!
I'll just sit here and wait for more pictures.

Now I need to think up a name. Since she is a calico she will
follow the naming convention of my other calicos. I need a
gender neutral name. In the 13 years since I named Frankie,
gender neutral names have exploded with parents tossing ideas of
what names belong to what gender to the curb. I had precious
few to pick from with Frankie. In fact, since I named Frankie,
it is making a comeback with little girls. So glad to see that.
My first calico was Billie and my second Timmie.
Any ideas? I've still got Bailey and Riley on my list as they
didn't suit Frankie. I've added Danni and Jesse. I'm thinking
Alex (short for Alexandra) could be on the list. I have no idea
what name I will pick and won't know until I meet her. Frankie
wasn't even on my list of names I so carefully compiled. I met
her and realized that none of the names suited her. She was
       nameless for about 3 days.
The video doesn't show much but I have another video of all of
them with Mom and she was on the outer edge nowhere near a teet.
She just stepped onto and over a sibling, stuck her head into
the fray and booted her sibling away. She is going to be a
pistol if that is any indication.

do they need to be people names? I know it's not gender neutral
but I like Penny for a calico. Funny because as you know calico
is X-linked and therefore all genetically normal calicos are
       female.

I agree with waiting until meeting her to actually name her,
although having some favorites lined up doesn't hurt, of course.
I've always felt 'inspired' to name a pet once I had it. It's
almost like I ask them who they are and they tell me. I never
ever thought of Mia as a pet name, yet that's the name that just
seemed right for her-no others even entered into contention. I
was thinking that my next boy cat would be Percy, but if I do
get another guy, who knows, that name might not suit him.
We had a Jesse for a short while. She was not well and only live
       1.5 years with us.
Had a snowshoe Siamese boy we named Nike (Goddess of Victory),
but that was because he had a white "swoosh" mustache.
Our first boy cat was Perry. That could go either way these
       days. Perry/Perri.

With the exception of Egypt (a dog) , every pet in which I have
been in control of naming has had a people name. No idea why.
I like Gerrie. I have worked with a woman and man with that
       name.
Penny is out of the question for it's association with a real
person. She did VERY bad by a friend of mine and I wouldn't
want my cat's name to continually bring up bad memories.

I like Perri too. Especially if you think of Periwinkle. It is
       such a beautiful flower.

My paternal grandparents had a black cocker spaniel named Egypt.

And here I thought I was being totally unique when I named her.
That fantasy has been blown to bits now. Two little boys lived
next door. They would come to ask if she could come out to play
but couldn't say her name properly. They always asked for Eeeg
       or Eegie.
