I couldn't decide if having Lenny Kravitz playing during the In
Memoriam was a nice touch or a massive distraction.
He was okay to me. But I found the fade out from the
side-by-side pictures distracting. It was too rapid. Don't try
to save a fraction of a second on the memoriam reel!! If you're
pressed for time, maybe don't insert a damn Disney promo in an
awards show. Let Disney buy its own commercial. Sheesh.
Also, the blurb at the end about going to the website to see
tributes to "others" -- does that mean they left some folks out
on purpose? If so, see my Disney comment.

How do you think they were able to afford Jimmy Kimmel as host?
That WAS a paid ad. 🤣😂🤣
I dunno, maybe the owner of ABC, Marvel, Pixar and a few other
valuable properties can afford both Jimmy Kimmel and a
traditional commercial? They'd basically be paying themselves,
right? Inserting a commercial into the show was extremely tacky
and makes me not want to see the movie.

Did they mention William Hurt? I was really surprised how little
attention his death received. He was an excellent actor, lot of
films. A favorite of mine.

Same here, and no they forgot him! They also left out Paul
Sorvino, Anne Heche, Tom Sizemore, Cindy Williams and Coolio,
and a bunch of others.
Apparently, most of those were excluded, not just forgotten.
Folks were given a QR code to see who else was being honored.
WTF? But Hurt isn't on the website, so it looks like he was
forgotten altogether. ☹

Those are big names. I wonder what the thought process was for
who to include and who to skip. Me, I'm thinking you either
include everyone or you don't do it.

i'm too lazy to look it up myself: was there a reason they went
from traditional red carpet to [s]champagne[/s] dentist office
beige ?
because lots of the dresses were really fab but the actors
looked like they were standing around in my living room (ie, yes
i have that dull color of walltowall carpet).
i did not dig it.

OMG you are so right! I'm fine with them mentioning behind the
scenes people who most movie goers don't know, but don't leave
off actors who have been a part of our entertainment world for
decades! How could they show casting directors and leave off
Hurt, Sorvino, Sizemore, etc.?

The article I read said it was partly because of the color of
the tent or awning and partly because some people are tired of
red and think it’s a bad color to match dresses to, etc.
Apparently the same company makes the carpet every year along
with lots of premiers.
I think some decorator just got a bee up his/her butt that it
was time to be daring.
