I didn't know they made swishy toys for dogs.

Ha! Yes, flirt poles are a thing. LCP loves hers. So much.
So much that when you are not looking she steals it and chews
the handle into little tiny pieces.
       Bad LCP!
I'm definitely going to get some more puzzle toys, because this
puppy needs to be busy, busy, busy.

       Supersoakers are your friend there.
Scam Likely very quickly figured out the range of one squirt
bottle, but then we switched to one that had better range. Now
we just have to reach for it and she's off of whatever it was
she wasn't supposed to be on.
I never tried it, but some people swear by shaking a can full of
       pebbles.

No way I use a supersoaker inside my house. Anyway, the game is
to get you out of your chair to reach for the squirt bottle, and
       it definitely works!

We have squirt bottles near all our chairs and at the corner of
       several tables.

Again, if you engage, he's happy.

I understand if you don't want to do this, but what if you
turned your back and refused to engage?

I need to get LCP out to where the people are. When my kids
were younger we attended many youth sporting events and I
consider these the gold standard for socialization
       opportunities.
Now my kids are grown and I find myself disconnected from the
       youth sports schedule.
I'm sure this varies by town, but does anyone have an idea of
how to find out where the games are?
The only thing I know to check is the high school web page and
dogs are now forbidden there. There has to be some kind of
publicly accessible schedule for the rec league events, right?

Does your local Parks and Rec department have a webpage? It
might be posted there (or if they have contact info, you might
be able to get it from them). Alternatively you can ask on Next
Door, if you've joined for your area.

It's okay sometimes to just admit temporary defeat.
