RIP Isilde (2007-2022)

Our oldest female cat died tonight. She'd been staggering a bit
earlier this evening and I was planning on a vet visit tomorrow,
but I walked into the living room and found her, already
stiffening up. We knew it was coming, but we'd hoped for a few
weeks grace (or the time to take her to the vet to go with
dignity).
Her brother and the other male we adopted at the same time are
still with us, slowed down with age but still pretty active.
Isilde had really started showing her age and had health
problems these last couple of years.
I feel bad, but mostly I feel for my husband, as the Z was his
special girl. For some reason most of the cats tend to prefer
me, but Isilde was a full on Daddy's Girl. I know he will miss
her.

It's so hard to lose our fur friends, especially when we've
loved them for so long, like Isilde.
It's good she didn't suffer, but of course she'll leave a big
hole in your hearts.

Thank you everyone.
Here she is on her first day with us, mid-October 2007. All
ready a little cannonball, even if you still couldn't feel her
walk on you in the bed at night.

Im so sorry for you and your husband. It's tough when that
special one goes. You love them all but sometimes one of them
gets deeper than usual into your heart. Coco was a Daddy's girl
too and he misses her terribly.
