This story was all over twitter, police shoot amber alert
victim, so I went looking for details and found this story.
Sad all around, but I get tetchy about reporting that seems to
follow the police line, but then sneaks in a sentence like this:
Although the only weapon found -- a rifle -- was in the
truck with Graziano, detectives said it was possible that his
daughter was also firing.
Firing what exactly?
But on Wednesday, Dicus said in a 39-second video posted
on social media that evidence suggested that the 15-year-old
girl was "a participant in shooting at our deputies." Dicus did
not provide further details into when she allegedly fired at
deputies.
Perhaps because there are no further details?
I'm sure that 39 second video will never be altered or shown and
we should just take the police officer's word for it. I mean I'm
still waiting for an explanation on Uvalde that will never come.
Also, earlier:
Authorities are investigating whether she was shot by
deputies or her father, or both.
Yeah, then why the other comment?
"We're not sure if we shot her or her dad did, but if we did she
was totally shooting at us first"
I guess at this point I just expect that police are always
lying, and think we're both stupid and apathetic.
Sad story, not at all concerned the dad ended up dead, but that
15 year old girl should maybe be alive.

I have the same amount of cynicism, and it drives my fury at the
reporting of "criminal background" which is often a)
exaggerated, and b) not a justification to shoot or otherwise
harm/injure the victim rather than arresting them, and finally
c) *not information that the officers have at the time of the
confrontation*. But it's always put out there as if "oh, no
worries, this was a bad person, it's okay". No. No it is not.
