NYT Letterboxed

If you do get NYT games, letterboxed is one I really enjoy and
more strategic than others. I just get the games subscription
for $20/yr. Worth it to me. Keeps the old brain tracking!

But I just like getting pangrams and complaining about being
locked out by the game.

I find I can play this game for free on my phone (Android) but
not desktop. Not sure why. I think if you have a subscription
you can continue playing to try to improve your score, the free
game stops as soon as you get any solution.
This game requires a lot of thinking, at least if you are going
for the 2 word solution. I only play occasionally and give up
about half the time.

I’d decided today would be the last day for me to play this very
frustrating game.
Then I got the official 2 word answer almost immediately.
Total fluke!

Likewise, played today after a long break and it went pretty
quickly. The challenge with today's game was that the letters
were arranged so that so many of the common combinations: ation,
ing, ment were allowed. But I just worked at putting the most
difficult letter in long words and a solution appeared.

I was perfectly happy with 3 or 4 word solutions until you told
me there were two word solutions. Now I'll get stuck trying to
figure it out.

After days of frustration, I may abandon Letterboxed after all.
Perhaps dementia has set in. I can sometimes get it in 3-4 words
but veeery rarely 2. It’s a plot to drive me batty.

Played today for the first time in a while, it was easy. (!?!?)
By what must be a fluke, I quickly saw a word that used all but
one of the letters.

Yesterday went so well I had to try another round. Again
success! (The presence of a Q helps limit possibilities, I
think).
Checking against yesterday's answer, I found mine was completely
different from theirs -- that word using 11 letters
(UNCHARITABLE) was serendipitous.

I decided to try for 3 in a row, after much cogitation I managed
it. I think I'll stop before the streak ends.
