       Our MAYBE kitty-to-be
By: ThistlePDX Date: August 23, 2021, 4:30 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
[Reposted this as a new topic since I initially posted in the
       wrong place. Still learning.]
I'm a LITTLE geetchy about preemptively posting this, but we may
be welcoming this little guy (we're pretty sure it's a guy) into
our home shortly. A couple in our Nextdoor neighborhoods forum,
who live not far away, took him in as a stray recently - or HE
took THEM in, more like. They would keep him if he goes
unclaimed, but they already have two other cats, a dog, and two
kids, so it's getting mildly chaotic in their home - AND they're
moving soon. Finding another good home is better for them, and
it seems like just what the universe decided we need. AND HE HAS
RED NOSE LEATHER (I'm a sucker for red nose leather because of
       my beloved late Cosmo).
They took him to the vet this morning to get him sexed and see
if he has a microchip - no chip, and the vet could only say the
kitten's male with 90% certainly, since kitty did NOT want to
stay still. Mr. Kitten is 4-5 months old, and Bethany, the
neighbor, describes him as a near-perfect cat: friendly and
cuddly, not yowly, good with the litter box, playful. They're
taking him back to the vet Wednesday for a more thorough checkup
and first vaccines, so they are entirely good people, willing to
go the extra mile for kitty's welfare.
We'll get him if no one who can prove ownership comes along
soon. My heart is pitter-patting. Mr. Thistle is all in with the
plan. Cross your fingers for us. Almost time to start
       considering names.

I don't think I've ever seen a cat with red leather nose! There
was this one cat we used to see in a window on our walk. She was
a little tuxedo kitty with a black heart on her nose! It was the
       cutest thing 🙂
Here's hoping you get to bring him to his new fur-ever home
       ❤❤

We pick up Mr. Kitty (no permanent name yet) TOMORROW!! I have
been madly ordering supplies on Amazon and buying others at
PetSmart that can't wait for delivery. Of course, "supplies"
includes not only food and a new litterbox, but feather toys and
catnip mice and a small cat tree and a hidey-hole kitty bed, and
       and and ....
Hey, you define "supplies" for YOU, and I'll define it for ME.
       😁
       I'm so EXCITED!

What a pretty kitty! He looks a lot like my former kitty, who
was my grandmother's, my mother's, and then mine.
