Such wonderful news! I do hope she takes to the special food --
maybe if you present it as food for exceptional kitties instead
of this is your diet food now?
       [/quote]
Could you start out with presenting it as a treat? That would
work with Coco. Sasha not so much.
Somewhere in the back of my mind I think I remember my vet
telling me to push more water and even recommended wet food.
But my kitty was not as seriously ill so may not be applicable
       to your situation.

All but one of my cats love the pet-fountain water bowls. The
old orange cat just prefers still water. We have 4 fountains of
various brands and a couple of still bowls to encourage lots of
drinking. We also do the wet food (they split a can morning and
night, with the elder three getting another shot at tinned
during the day). Since we started doing this a few years ago,
we've seen a lot fewer UTI issues.

Thanks! I have one of the pet fountains on order. I'll pick up
the new food tomorrow. Presenting it as a treat would work for
the Lazy Tiger. I hope she'll like it though. They were feeding
her prescription food at the vets and she was eating better than
she is at home. Tonight it was tuna in water and kitty treats.
She turned up her pink nose at her usual salmon flavored wet
food, two kinds of expensive chicken cat food and yogurt. Just
in case anyone thinks she doesn't have her subjects well
       trained.

I still have about 6 kinds of cat food in the house from
Frankie. We spent a lot of money convincing her to eat. We
donated a case of various flavours that Coco turned her nose up
at to a local rescue group. Some of it she has eaten but we now
have her on a diet :( she needs to lose at least 1 lb maybe
       more.
I know all about trying to convince a cat to eat. You can make
yourself crazy trying to figure out what the diva might like
       today.

Her Majesty is doing well. She likes the new food and is eating
really well. She seems to have already put on some weight. Has
also been drinking well. She's still on antibiotics and pain
meds, which are slowing her down a bit. I knocked the lid off
the treats today. Four spilled on the floor and the Lazy Tiger
actually got to one of them before she did.

So glad to hear she likes the food! That's a big "whew".

I have really sad news. The Lazy Tiger was not lazy enough. He
pushed past me Friday, got out after dark and was hit by a car.
He did not survive. I could not believe he had even crossed the
       street.
For better news, the Queen is getting better. Today, she figured
out how to push the treats off the shelf. Yes, from the spot
that I didn't think she could get to. As best as I can tell, she
stood on the bottom shelf on her back legs and pawed at the
       container until it slid out.
