Not really a "Dear Human" note - but a note about a very clever
human.
I saw this in a video online - next to a large kitchen water
bowl was a basket lined with a towel that left an opening in the
middle. The dog - a large slobber dog - drank some water, then
stuck his face in the basket to dry off. Again and again, after
every drink.
Brilliant.

Wish I’d known about this bib device.
My90# Rottie mix was a world class slobberer and she had a bib
too… it was a 5 ft. rug runner at edge of kitchen floor so I
wouldn’t slip in all the drool.

Dear Human,
You promised that when you retired, you would have more time to
pet and play with me. I assumed that meant you were finally
going to fulfill your proper human role as a full time cat
slave. Instead, I only get a few extra hours a day of love and
play. And you still sleep all night. This is NOT acceptable.
Your owner,
Lil Sis

WTAH? You're not available to your cat while you are sleeping?
This is why my dog is confined to 2 rooms during the night as
well as when we are not home. I got up once at about 2 am to
use the bathroom and as I was trying to go back to sleep I was
aware of someone standing next to me.
It was my husky who assumed that since I had gotten out of bed
it was clearly time for me to get her breakfast.

My husband had a cat that wanted supper about 3 a.m. or so. He’d
gotten in the habit of putting a container of her dry food next
to his bed so he could reach down and scoop some into a bowl for
her.
I said no to that when he moved in with me.
She eventually learned to go get food in the kitchen but she
never wanted to eat with the other cats so we always had to feed
her when she was ready.
She was a real character. She got stuck in cat adolescence.

That's why my bedroom has a door. Some nights she sits outside
it and meows trying to get me to come back out.
