       Murder Kitty
By: Aquawoman Date: June 14, 2022, 9:37 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
My floof had been drinking water like crazy for a while and I
got an at-home test kit, which showed some protein in his urine,
which might be kidney-related. He's got a vet appointment
Thursday, so good health vibes requested. He's 8, so not young
and not old. In other news, I had to pick up medication for him
this morning to calm him down so that he does not try to murder
the vet like he did the last time. He's a fighter and a hefty
       boy.

I've been through this with so many cats.
       Mojo for both of you.

He did try to murder the entire vet staff, despite being
drugged. They took blood (THAT was noisy!) and sent me home
with stuff for a urine sample, which has been supplied, so I
should get some results early this week.

Hopefully it is something readily treated with something he is
willing to accommodate. Like a change of diet to a particularly
yummy food, or a chewable tablet he sees as a treat.
Healing mojo to your murder kitty and to the vet staff as
       needed.
Soothing mojo to you and the cat.

Oh I have one of those. Needs extra sedation for procedures
because he will commit murder if he's even remotely conscious.
I hope the results are the best possible results, and that your
murderous little fiend continues to wreak havoc.

I knew it was a sort of trope that cats turn into fiends from
hell at the vet, but all mine have been singularly calm and
non-aggressive. One was named as "aggressive" because he would
hiss once before coming over all friendly-like, but he was like
that everywhere, not just with the vet. Workmen, new visitors
to the house, whatever, Sinbad would hiss and then be the
       friendliest cat in North America.
But here are two of you saying that your cats need sedating to
see the vet, and one of my friends (whose cat just wants to be
carried around and loved on at her house) apparently has one
that does it as well. I wonder how common the flying claws,
scratching and biting and howling cats really are. Have I just
been amazingly lucky over the course of 55 years with cats?

I had one cat that needed some help with calm at the vet.
Frankie got attitude but she was still loved by the vet techs.
Coco gets grumpy but nowhere near murderous.
Otherwise I've had plenty of cats that weren't happy but
tolerated visits. I have heard of murderous cats but never
       owned one myself.

Thanks for the positive mojo, everyone. Murder kitty's blood
and urine tests came back looking great! I need to call the vet
       but I think he's ok.
