I haven't tried lemon butter on grilled asparagus. I roast
asparagus (love the fat asparagus!) on a baking sheet in the
oven or on the gas grill - I use olive oil, coarse sea salt and
pepper. I will have to try lemon butter, especially if I'm also
       making fish. It sounds great.

Yep, but red and grill blogs say the seal is better, so a bit
better heat control. I've never used an egg, but loving the KJ
so far. Last night was pizza and it is the best pizza I've ever
       done at home, easy.

excited! I will confess my primary purpose is to use it to cook
pizzas, since the oven doesn't get hot enough to do stellar
pizza. Smoked turkey is also high on the list of exciting
       things.”

OK, let's hope I post the picture correctly, but here's the
pizza that I made last night. It got flaming hot - 700 within 45
minutes of starting the charcoal - so less time that it takes my
oven to get to 525, which doesn't include the time you're
supposed to wait for the stone to get hot in your oven. So less
time, better crust. Granted, this is a $1700 grill with a $200
pizza add on, so probably not the answer unless you like to geek
out with your food, but I'm super pleased so far with my first
versions of everything so far - smoking, grilling, and pizza
       oven.

For the pizza snobs, let me just plug the Ooni. I have the Fyra
(wood pellet), and it's a bit finicky, but 800 degrees within 15
minutes of firing it up? Love it!!
We're on a pizza hiatus ATM because it's too damn hot here in
the steam bath of the DC region, but as soon as the temps drop
back below 80, we'll be back at it.

The Ooni does look fabulous, I only have space for one system
       outside, sadly.
I live in central Florida, so I feel your steam bath. I'm just
stubborn. In comparison to my old Weber kettle I do love how
much cooler it is standing next to the KJ - it really does keep
the heat inside of it and is making for more pleasant summer
       cooking.

Your pizza toppings here are totally up my alley! I love a
roasted beet and never would have thought to give it pizza
treatment - definitely going to try this out.

I combined the roasted beets with caramelized onions and a vegan
feta (that odd creamy haze on top — fabulous flavor, but it just
dissolves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). My notes say to halve the onions,
and add arugula when it comes out of the oven next time.
I'll throw pretty much anything on a pizza. We've even had chili
and dal on pizzas. It's the one time I'm very purposeful about
using up leftovers. And I keep copious notes on what worked,
       what needs improvement, etc.

This weekend my husband is grilling some sort of roast (I only
eat seafood, so I didn't ask specifics), grilling asparagus, and
       cooking Cav's pasta recipe. I can't wait!

       Yum!
Last night I did a marinade of coconut milk, red curry paste,
gochujang, basil, maple syrup (could use brown sugar) and
lemongrass. I used bone in chicken this and grilled over
       indirect heat.
       Excellent.

Two recent marinades for chicken but could also be used on
       steak:
Sliced limes, brown sugar, olive oil, a crapton of garlic, some
fresh ginger, soy, olive oil. Could add fresh chopped basil or
parsley but I did not. Very well received.
This one is a total cheat I used on boneless chicken thighs:
Bottled sweet chili sauce, a sliced lemon and a half a sliced
       orange.
Both of these need to be grilled on lower heat because of the
sugar. Everything I grilled with these disappeared in minutes.
