It works pretty good under the broiler too. Add feta at the
last minute. Onion/Lemon turns out to be a really great place
       to start experimenting.

       There is interest!
I might try that shrimp one this weekend. It sounds right up my
alley. I mean, I mostly don't eat shrimp because I live far
away from where it can be bought right off the boat. But it's
very quick and as Oldest is fond of telling me, the macros on
shrimp fit his eating style very well.
But also yes, please to post the other marinades?
Also, what are your favorite veggies to grill? I always seem to
end up doing the same ones over and over again.

don't need much help. So, I will remember my pre-vegetarian
life for a minute or two. I prefer wet marinades for grilling,
dry rubs for slow cooking (like brisket).

I lived on the Gulf coast. I would buy the shrimp right off the

is a lot of wiggle room for modifications.

       > Peeled deveined large shrimp, preferably fresh but thawed
       frozen will do
       > Extra virgin olive oil, enough to coat the shrimp well
       > A whole lot of fresh garlic, peeled and run through a press
(if cooking several lbs, use the whole head of garlic)
       > A whole lot of crushed red pepper flake, more than you think
       is necessary
       > Sea salt (more can be added after cooking, just a little in
       the marinade will do)
       > Fresh Italian parsley, stems removed and finely chopped
       > Refrigerate and marinate for at least an hour but two is
       better
       > I used a veggie grilling tray rather than skewering the shrimp
       > Just before grilling, a splash or two of white wine (Sauvignon
       Blanc) or fresh lemon juice

Yes, please post in the Recipes area! It's okay if not exact, I
think a lot of people are experienced cooks and willing to adapt
off the basic idea of the ingredients.

Maybe will experiment with that next summer when we have access
to an actual grill (as apt dwellers, we can only visit grills.
Some day we hope to leave apt-living in our rear-view mirror)

Have you tried tamari (it'd work if your soy sauce problem is a
gluten issue, if not, sorry. Food issues are a bummer)? Chinese
black vinegar is a fun way to go for non-soy based Asian-ish
       marinades too
       [/quote]
Yeah, unfortunately, it's a soy protein issue. It's amazing how
much stuff that knocks out of your ability to have. It hides
EVERYWHERE! Between hydrolyzed soy protein, and soy flour... my
husband and son went to the grocery store, came home and told me
that I was SOL and couldn't have 3/4 of the store.
I adapt. Mostly. (with only a *little* bit of moping) (and if
you really believe it's only a *little* bit, there's this bridge
near where I live that I can sell you for cheap...)

I would say ask someone to post in the more appropriate spot
first, and only do something ourselves if that doesn't happen
and it might really matter down the line.

The veggies I like most are typical I think. Asparagus,
zucchini and yellow squash, and bell peppers. My favorite is
grilled artichoke. They require steaming before grilling but
they are so good! The restaurant near Solvang in the movie
"Sideways" called The Hitching Post served them when I lived in
the area. Their most popular appetizer.

My favorite grilled vegetables are swiss chard, red peppers,
cauliflower, baby bok choy, broccoli, cherry tomatoes.
