Well, Honey has been going through some things. She really
doesn't like being handled so that whole trip to the vet set
back our relationship.
I was finally able to get the first med on her neck. I was
supposed to wait a week for the second, but it wasn't like she
was warming up to me. I finally did get the second one on her
and I can tell her health has improved a lot. She's had some
behavioral set backs. She peed on the floor right next to the
litter box.
I think we may have come to an understanding with her. It took
several days to get the hang of it. We set up a litter box just
for her in the garage and we put her in the garage at night.
It's not as warm as in the house but we don't leave the
pneumonia hole open so she's safe in the garage.
She doesn't like the bed I set up for her but she did find a
place. My daughter left some stuff which is covered with a tarp.
She found a spot on top of a desk. I put a warming pad under the
tarp when I discovered her spot.
The warming pad is just a fleece cover over reflective fabric,
which crinkled when they step on it. She wouldn't sleep on it,
so I was hoping she wouldn't notice any noise it made under the
tarp. She didn't move her spot and she seemed pretty comfy
afterwards.
She really didn't like getting put out at bedtime the first few
days. But the past 2 days she went out on her own and was OK
with it.

Ferals are hard. Eventually she may warm up more, but
unrelenting patience is going to be key.
It can be done. Banshee was feral, but he was a loving
companion once we got him neutered and in the house. I suspect
him being so sick with heartworm that he spent 10 days in an
oxygen tent at the emergency vet helped, though, and I don't
recommend that option to anyone. (That was about two months
after we got him in the house.)
