It is National Banana Split Day
A 23-year-old apprentice pharmacist at Tassel’s Pharmacy in
Latrobe, Pennsylvania, created the first banana split in 1904.
David Evans Strickler enjoyed inventing sundaes at the store’s
soda fountain. For only 10 cents, Strickler sold his first
“banana-based triple ice cream sundae,” double the cost of all
       the other sundaes.
I like bananas but not really with my ice cream. No idea why...

Y'all can have mine. I don't like bananas unless they are
bananas foster, and even that would be better without the
       bananas.

I am fine with banana splits, haven't had one in ages.
My 8 year old self would be entirely disappointed with the lack
of ice cream eating I do, but I had to cut calories somewhere.

I decided to have a Drumstick after dinner last night and almost
couldn't finish it. What kind of adult can't eat a whole novelty
ice cream bar? One who's child version would disown, that's
       what.

Beating Rick to it, it's National Peanut Day today, sorry for
       those allergic.
One thing about boycotting baseball games in the pandemic and
due to ownership issues is that I miss tossing shells on the
       ground.

I think it is telling that when there is a nut mix, the peanuts
       are the last to go.

Ina Garten has a rosemary roasted cashew recipe that is

Hero, although we understand subs and grinders these days and
places that are trying to be cute or fashionable will use those
terms. But every corner deli will have it listed as a hero.
