National Day

It is National Chocolate Pecan Pie Day!
I don't love Pecan Pie (not the poster, I do like her) but if I
am getting one, make it chocolate.

If you're going to make chocolate pecan pie, I strongly
recommend adding bourbon. This one has been our Thanksgiving pie
the last two years:

What?! WRONG SIR.
[s]Death Pie[/s]Pecan pie (no corn syrup!) is the food of the
gods, and do not adulterate it with chocolate, ew, ptooie.
Aside: I love it that you are starting new threads!
ETA: Bourbon is always a solid addition to pecan pie.

Bourbon, that sounds like it would add a rich flavor.
Q, I think adding chocolate to anything is a good idea :)

I also do not think it needs chocolate, but will not turn down
one with chocolate.
We now need 50 posts arguing about the pronunciation of pecan.

That looks delicious. What brand of bourbon do you use? I use
bourbon in regular pecan pie.
(We once sent our baby faced 23 year old to the liquor store to
get an airplane bottle full of bourbon for a pecan pie. She went
in and asked for bourbon. The clerk asked which kind, and she
shrugged her shoulders and said any kind, doesn’t matter, I just
need some. The clerk was like, oh, honey, you’re just too young
to give up on life like this!! Then she explained about the
thimble full for a pecan pie. 🙂)

If you say "PEE-can" I will laugh in your face.
MIL used to keep a pee can in the elevator(!) in the Bethany
Beach townhouse ::)
