Mushroom lentil loaf with pickled ho chi minh peppers and tomato
jam on some of the sourdough I baked yesterday. This will likely
be dinner too — I'm headed to a charity gala, with passed hors
d'oeuvres and wine. I don't expect anything will be vegan.
^Tying in to yesterday's discussion, the most expensive parts of
this vegan meal's construction are the dutch oven (bread
baking), $30 stovetop pressure cooker, and all the canning
supplies I've picked up/been gifted over the years (peppers and
jam). Both the dutch oven and PC are used at least once a week
in the summer, and nearly daily in the winter. And the canning
supplies are used heavily in the summer (filling), eaten from
the rest of the year, then stored to be refilled again.

You know what I don't miss about not having any money?
I mean, besides things like dumpster diving.
I don't miss having to eat every zucchini our garden could grow.
If I never see another zucchini as long as I live that would be
OK.

Mickey D's - chicken nuggets and fries.
My husband got a notification from the app on his phone
(installed so that he could do pickup orders over the past few
years) that the McRib is back. He described this as a change of
lunch plans due to an emergency notification.

This just in: it turns out that there is a flavor of Dot's
pretzels I don't much like (southwestern spice or some such.)
This comes as a surprise to me.
I may have to eat actual food for lunch instead of half a bag of
pretzels.

I am eating soup from the caf: cream of spinach with tarragon.
I'm not a tarragon fan but in this it's a good add.

I don't know. I'm waiting to find out while I monch on these
grapes that my adorable husband put in the shopping cart for
grocery pickup today.
Note: I had not put them in the cart because they're not on sale
the way they were the first time I put them in the cart. And I
will not do that dumb thing of telling him this, I will take the
small indulgence since he clearly noticed how fast those grapes
got eaten and was looking out for his honey.
