       What's for lunch?

Leftovers again. Roast chicken breast, steamed broccoli. It's
delicious, and saves me from wasting ten bucks at the caf,
usually for food I don't even like.

Two cold chicken legs: fried with panko breading.

Yes, leftovers are good, and cheap. I'm not having leftovers
today, only because I'm already burned out on the leftovers on
hand. So I'm having tortilla soup and a sandwich.

Salad - greens, cucumbers, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, olives,
       raisins.
Plain bagel with olive cream cheese
       Tea, light & sweet.

I am about to drive to the totally catty-cornered from me other
side of town to pick up a plate of jambalaya and potato salad
from my favorite jambalaya shop, for no good reason whatsoever
except I have the envie. I really should just make a little
       something here. I really should.

I'm on burnout relief staycation, so I took myself to brunch at
a diner. Avocado pear and goat cheese omelet with home fries and
well buttered wheat toast. Tuesdays I normally try to go vegan,
but, uh, I guess not today.

So I read that as avocado, pear, and goat cheese and I gagged a
       little.

Yesterday I caved because the caf was serving grilled cheese
sandwiches and tomato (fontina, pesto and sliced tomato on
sourdough FYI) but today it's back to leftovers: Queenie's
quasi-Asian meatballs. I really can't justify spending ten
bucks on grilled cheese and canned tomato soup no matter how
       "comfort" it is.

Week or so ago I was in downtown DC: beautiful sunny spring day
with loads of tourists milling about and enjoying the sights.
I stopped at one of the million food trucks to get icecream : I
rarely eat out when I'm alone but couldnt resist.
$8.80 for a small generic cake cone (ie, not even a swanky huge
       waffle cone with added stuffs).
Wont be doing that again anytime soon. ::)

I have fond memories of the DC food trucks but I do seem to
remember that they were pricey. This did not bother me at the
       time, as I was a full-on tourist.
