Welcome to the NHA!
The National Haxball Association is a traditional 4v4
haxball league. Teams will play head-to-head in 3, 4 minute
periods. There will be a 10 minute sudden death overtime (3v3).
The points are awarded as follows:
Win = 3 points
Overtime Win = 2 points
Draw = 1 point (The game is labeled a "Draw" when neither team
has scored in overtime)
Loss = 0 points
In Game Forfeit = -1 points
At the end of the 17-game season, the top 4 teams will move into
the playoffs. The 1st seed plays the 4th seed, while the 2nd
seed plays the 3rd. Both matchups will be a 3 game series with
the 2 winners advancing to the finals. The finals will then
consist of another best of 3 series. Once we get more teams, new
regular season and post-season rules will be changed
accordingly. A few more rules and regulations...
[li]No more than 4 people on a single team on the field during a
game.[/li]
[li]If a player has a bad connection, the options are to either
postpone the game BEFORE the first quarter starts (with the
other GM's permission ; must inform the commish.), play a man
down (3v4), or simply forfeit the match (score : 0-3).[/li]
[li]Anyone is eligible to host a game room unless they have bad
connection with computer issues.[/li]
[li]Each match will have several components. To kick things off,
a 2 minute lag test will be performed followed up by the actual
match. The match will then consist of 3, 4 minute periods with a
90-second break in between periods. Teams may host post games,
solely up to their respective GMs.[/li]
[li]If a team decides that the host's connection is bad due to
lag, they may appoint a new host, or they can postpone the
match-up.[/li]
[li]All games must be played on the map - Big Easy[/li]
[li]A team may substitute players if they have more than 4
players available, but substitutions must only take place during
the period breaks.[/li]
[li]In case of shortage of players for a certain match-up, you
may talk to the commish. 1 hour prior to the game and request a
slight postpone. A team will be forced to forfeit if it can't
field more than 2 players. If team A has its players ready, then
team B has 15 minutes past the official game time to set things
up with the opposing GM or it will be considered a forfeit.[/li]
[li]Both GMs must record a replay of the match but only the
WINNING GM is required to post the link along with the MR. (If
neither of the GMs are capable of doing this, they may assign a
player/AGM to do so.) Upload the replay to haxballtube.com[/li]
[li]Games will be held Fridays-Sundays at night (9pm EST
on-wards). All teams will be playing 3 games a weekend. However,
practices and scrimmages may be held at anytime by the team's
respective GM. (Rules and regulations do not apply to
scrimmages)[/li]
[li]Players may be traded anytime during the regular season but
the deadline will always be before the playoffs, whether a team
has qualified for them or not. You may also sign any free agents
at anytime but the deadline will always be until the playoffs
kick-off, whether a team has qualified for them or not. After
the playoffs have concluded, trading may commence. GMs may trade
for players and/or picks before the draft in the
off-season.[/li]
[li]Any player that is cut by a team will be put on waivers. The
waiver order will be decided once the season starts. The team on
top of that list will get the first priority on any released
player they may wish to sign. If no waiver claim is placed on
the player within a 24-hour window, that player becomes a
unrestricted free agent. Teams may then pm NHA ROBOT on a first
come first serve basis.[/li]
[li]Any NEW player that signs up for the league will be placed
in the restricted free agency. If a team wishes to sign that
player, they will have go to through a bidding-war. The team
with the highest bid (in terms of future draft picks only) at
the end of a 36-hour window will receive that player. If a bid
isn't placed on the player, that player then becomes a
unrestricted free agent. Teams may then pm NHA ROBOT on a first
come first serve basis.[/li]
