Let's all do poems!

My class is learning poems, so why shouldn't we do them
to?Here's one of mine:
I think I'll write a poem
All about poems.
Poems, poems, poems.
They needn't be long
They needn't rhyme.
All you need
Are some really short
Lines.

We r doing poems too! Here is one I made from the top of my mind
There is a man dressed in red and white
That is never seen in sight
He wears a belt so very tight
Bringing presents with his might
For the children at the night
Then he disappears in flight
He is gone with a flash of light
The brightest time of the year
the joy of children you shall hear
lights hung up in every street
People swarming for a Christmas treat!
Everything covered with a blanket of snow
Christmas trees hanging low
everyone seems so busy around
Waiting for Santa to come to town!

Lol their pretty childish. What type of poems are you guys
talking about. We did Haiku, alliteration, onomotopoeia, rhyme,
figurative language, imagery, Free verse, etc.
