Dayton Hemmings
Dayton grabbed the front of his shirt flapping it to cool
himself off. He rolled his shoulders as he looked around the
football field. A few guys were playing frisbee near the other
end, and there were some students in the stands just talking. It
was a lot bigger than he expected, almost like the size of a
college football field. Biting on his lips he put ball holder
into the grass digging it into the dirt so it was secure.
Getting up and rubbing his hands together he grabbed a football
from the satchel he borrowed from the gym and set it into the
holder.
"Now we have the kicker, number 43, Dayton Hemmings," he said.
Running to his start position he continues narrating ,"Dayton
Hemmings, only 17, and the star athlete of Halesworth Prepatory
School. He excels in baseball, golf, tennis, bowling, and
football as our kicker, running back and leeeeeaaaaddd quarter
back."
He stops, turning around, and begins to sprint.
"There he goes! Past number 28! Back flipping off of number 16's
back! Look at that landing! And he goes for the winning kick!"
He swivels and kicks the ball just high enough to go through the
goal.
"IT'S A WIN! DAYTON HEMMINGS HAS WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP!"
He cups his hands around his mouth and makes faux cheering
audience sounds.
"The crowd goes wild," he says before grabbing another football
from the satchel.

Sydora Reynalds
Sydora wasn't entirely sure how she ended up at the football
field, but she was pretty sure it had something to do with the
fact that she needed to be as far away from Trent as possible.
Of course, there was no guarantee that Trent wouldn't be at the
football field, so maybe it wasn't the best idea. She scanned
the few people that were around and breathed a heavy sigh of
relief when Trent wasn't among them.
Really, the field had not been the most practical choice, seeing
as she knew nothing about sports, but she couldn't really go
back to her dorm either. She shoved her hands in her pockets and
glanced over at the boy across the field, watching him make a
relatively impressive... field goal? Yeah, that's what it was
called. She felt helpless and stupid and... well, the and didn't
matter, because the more she thought about it, the further her
mask would slip away and that would not due. So, her glossed
lips curved into the relaxed, practiced smile that she painted
on every morning and she clapped her hands slowly, meandering
toward the boy.
"Impressive," she called as she neared him, "You think you could
do that again?" She slipped her hands back into her pockets and
smirked over at him coyly.

Dayton Hemmings
Dayton looked at her and raised an eyebrow as he rolled the ball
in his hands.
"Uuhh, 80% chance? I usually try to practice my kicking every
other week, and I got some kind of a system down." He went to
the ball holder putting it back in place and placed the football
into it. He stood back up and lightly jogged by her until he got
to a position a little further than where he started last time.
Grabbing his shirt he flapped it letting the air cool him off a
little before rolling his shoulders again.
He wasn't used to having an audience so close by, but he started
sprinting anyway. This kick, although lacking the commentary,
was just as smooth and went through the goal landing far enough
on the other side. Rubbing the sweat from the back of his neck
he turned and faced the girl asking ,"Is that okay for you?"

Sydora Reynalds
"Impressive," she called to him, "You think you could do that
again?" She slipped her hands back into her pockets and smirked
over at him coyly. The other teenage looked over at her, one
eyebrow raised. She cocked her head to the side, narrowing her
eyes just slightly as she looked at him. He was very attractive
and she wondered how she'd never noticed him before... then
again, she really wasn't the most sociable person.
"Uuhh, 80% chance? I usually try to practice my kicking every
other week, and I got some kind of a system down." He said as he
moved over and put something in place. She watched him
curiously, eyes following him as he jogged back and flapped his
shirt before sprinting forward and kicking the ball. The ball
flew through the goal again and Sydora raised her eyebrows,
impressed. It was rare to see someone make two field goals in a
row, but that was when they were under the pressure of the game
and she supposed that could have been different than just
practicing.
He turned back to her and she pursed her lips. "Is that okay for
you?"
She shrugged one shoulder, keep her voice low and restrained,
her English accent poking his head out from the internal box
that she liked to keep it in. "I suppose..." she responded,
moving just a bit closer to him. "So, are you new here or am I
just that unobservant?"

"Yes," he said walking back to his satchel. Grabbing another
football from it he started to just toss the ball up in the air.
This girl was different. Maybe if was as obtuse as he could
possibly be she would talk to someone else. Company was nice and
all, but today was more of a practice day, and by that he meant
put off doing his homework while doing something else productive
and more fun.
"....sooo are you here waiting for a friend, or getting some
air, oorr?" At this point he had stopped tossing the ball into
the air and made a slow back and forth gesture with his hands.
He wasn't going to be an asshole to some chick he just met.
Might as well make conversation.

"Yes," He moved back to grab another football. Sydora pressed
the toe of her boot into the ground and bit down on the tip of
her tongue. Her companion wasn't very talkative, which was
probably because she was most likely interrupting his practice.
"....sooo are you here waiting for a friend, or getting some
air, oorr?" Running away from someone.
"Cutting through on my way to the gymnasium," she explained,
pointing lazily to the building across from the football field.
"Looking to get a little practice in myself." She toed the grass
again and edged toward the gymnasium. "Those I seem to be
interrupting your practice, so I should leave you alone...?"

He looked at the football, his eyebrows furrowing as he thought
about it. He was already procrastinating, and it probably
wouldn't do him any good to keep talking to himself for the next
couple of hours. He looked up to her giving her the same look
and and chewed on his bottom lip. Then he shrugged and tossed
the football to her.
"Do you mind if I offer you a small detour? I mean, if you're
not too busy with the practice you have to do."

looked at her, eyebrows furrowed and bottom lip caught between
his teeth before he shrugged and tossed her the bag. Her eyes
widened a bit as she caught the ball, silently impressed that it
hadn't bounced over her fingertips embarrassingly.
"Do you mind if I offer you a small detour? I mean, if you're
not too busy with the practice you have to do." So looked down
at the ball in her hands and then at the heeled boots she was
wearing and shrugged. She really wasn't dressed to play
anything, but she has a leotard waiting for her at the gym and
she could wear it back to the dorms if something happened to her
outfit.
"I suppose a small detour wouldn't hurt, the uneven bars will be
there all night." She tossed the football between her hands,
biting her lip. "Though, I'm not entirely sure what to do with
this." She waved the ball at him.

"Well that's easy." He walked over to her placing a hand onto
the football.
"You're going to take this ball, put it in that holder, and kick
it through that goal," he said pointing to each object as he
explained.
"But, uh, before that you have to introduce yourself. Strangers
don't make a team." Dayton took his hand off her shoulder and
held it out for her to shake.
"My name's Dayton." He gave her a big smile, and the corners of
his eyes crinkled a little.
