OOC: Potter rarely ever listens to anything by the original
artist, so he is playing the Tyler Ward cover at the beginning.
       Potter Westing
       "Don't know 'bout you, but I'm feeling twenty-two. Everything'll
be alright, if you keep me next to you." He sang along quietly
to the music that was playing from the speakers he'd set up. He
was hunched over one of the tables, scribbling out the answers
to his math homework in his notebook while he waited to see if
Zinnia would even show. Maybe he had overstepped, he was pretty
sure that making an actual fan club was crossing a few lines...
but he really couldn't help himself.
He knew what it was like to be the forgotten sibling, the one
that was always out shown and pushed to the back
unintentionally. Sure, his parents did pretty well for having so
many kids and all, but Mel's disorder took presidence over
everyone else. He didn't mind all that much, not most of the
time anyway. There were just certain things that rubbed him the
wrong way; like when their old school held auditions for
'Grease' and his parents insisted, at Mel's request, that he
simply couldn't audition for Danny when he knew how much his
sister wanted to play Sandy. Or when they were in a production
of High School Musical, in the all too fitting roles of Sharpay
and Ryan, and Mel was showered with roses and praise while his
father patted him on the back and offered up a 'good job, bud'.
He glanced over at the monologue that he'd been practicing in
secret and sighed. Productions really were a sore spot in his
and Mel's relationship. Really, he shouldn't have ever even
considered auditioning, but he wanted the role of Sweeney so bad
that he could taste it. So, he'd done the unthinkable and
auditioned for the lead role, without telling his sister.
Yes, he knew exactly how it felt to hold the spotlight up for a
sibling and he wouldn't wish it on anyone. Which is what lead to
him scrawling compliments on the tops of random pages in
Zinnia's book and making a formal request on the inside of the
back cover for her to join him every week in the back of the sub
shop for 'Zinnia's fan club' meetings. Part of him was positive
that she had laughed and took him up on his offer to buy her a
new book, the money tucked neatly between the pages she had been
reading. But then there was the other, more prominent part that
had actually gone out and bought cookies and punch.
He closed his eyes briefly and groaned. "God, I'm lame."

       Zinnia Natter
Sometimes her days went so crappily it was all she could do to
keep it together until she didn't have to pretend anymore.
This was one of those days.
She'd been on edge since her encounter with Trent, and was
sorely in need of her book, the one that had been left outside.
She was reluctant to buy a new one, hoping her old one would
show up. Unfortunately, it seemed to have disappeared with
Potter. Some days she swore she saw him, but never had the time
       to check.
She would go back to her room and futilely search the lost&found
website one last time before giving up, she decided. With that
goal in mind, she walked back to her dorm, trying to relax and
let go of the awful day she'd just had. It wasn't even anything
in particular, just a bad mood souring the days activities.
She wasn't expecting to see her book lying on her bed, that was
for sure. She stood there for a few seconds, totally stunned,
before breaking into a smile, then laughing. She picked it up
and rifled through it, frowning a bit when money fell out. She
looked through the book, checking to see if there was any
damage, and found a note from Potter explaining the money. She
       smiled.
"Silly Potter. As if positive remarks would prompt me to buy a
new copy..." she trailed off, a happy glow burning away her
moroseness. "I think I'll go read a bit outdoors today."
Secretly she was hoping to run into him. But she didn't see him,
and she couldn't find a comfortable way to sit. Rifling through
the book one last time, she saw something at the very end of the
       book that she'd missed before.
       "Zinnia fan-club meetings, weekly."
A time and location was beneath that. She stared for a second,
and then laughed out loud, not caring who heard just then. It
was so sweet! She glanced at her watch, wondering idly what time
it was, if she could make it-because it was today that the
       so-called 'fan-club' would meet.
It read 45 minutes past the starting time. She glanced up at the
sky, closing the book and fingering the money she would be
returning, weighing her options. Normally she would avoid things
like this like the plague, but Potter had seemed genuinely nice.
And she did need to return his money. And besides, the more
rebellious part of her brain answered, you could always 'forget'
your book again if you like him that much. Its as good an excuse
as any to keep seeing him, even if the fan club thing is a bust.
       Which it probably would be.
So she stood up again, and went to meet him. He was doing
homework when she arrived, and listening to some music. She
       approached warily, suddenly shy.
"Uh, I'm here for my weekly fan-club meeting?" She said,
slightly hesitant. "And to return something of yours as well."
She slid the money in front of Potter, not quite meeting his
eyes. Despite her previous determination, she was right back to
where she'd been before. Shy, quiet, virtually silent. She sat
down, but kept a safe distance away from the mess in front of
her, not wanting to disturb it in case he had it organized a
certain way. Her book she kept both hands on, tightly gripping
it and holding it in her lap.

OOC: This is pathetically short... I'm so sorry.
       Potter Westing
"Maybe lame wasn't the right word." He mumbled looking over at
the clock and sighing. Zinnia was late, really late, and he was
starting to get restless. He'd already broken into the cookies
and cracked open the punch and he was running out of homework to
keep him occupied. He'd gone through a full playlist and decided
to just put his entire iPod on shuffle, promising himself that
he'd only wait around a few more minutes. There were only a few
problems left on his math homework and he desperately needed a
       break.
"Uh, I'm here for my weekly fan-club meeting?" He glanced over
at the sound of her voice and grinned. "And to return something
       of yours as well."
"Saved by the Zinnia." He teased as he moved over to turn down
       the music.

"You're late." he commented with a smile, "I had to endure 50
minutes of torture via math homework. How could you?" Snatching
up two cookies, he sat down on one tables and tipped his head to
       the side.
"I hope you don't hate me for ruining your book. I don't know
what came over me... it just seemed like a good idea at the
time." He let out a nervous laugh and looked away before
       extending a desert to her.
       "Cookie?"

"Uh, I'm here for my weekly fan-club meeting?" She asked
hesitantly, when she finally found Potter. Thankful he was
actually here, she tried to smile. "And to return something of
       yours as well."
"Saved by the Zinnia." He teased as he moved over to turn down
the music. "You're late." he continued, but still smiling, "I
had to endure 50 minutes of torture via math homework. How could
you?" Snatching up two cookies, he sat down on one tablesand
tipped his head to the side. She smiled a bit at his comment
about his math homework. It seemed to be a common occurence
among non-math and science majors to hate math.
"Oh dear, math homework." Her kryptonite was the humanities.
"I hope you don't hate me for ruining your book. I don't know
what came over me... it just seemed like a good idea at the
time." He let out a nervous laugh and looked away before
       extending a desert to her.
       "Cookie?"
She loosed one of her hands enough to take the cookie, smiling
for real at his last comment. "Oh, it's not ruined. It's
actually very nice." It was. To have compliments hidden in the
very pages? That she would never have to worry about misplacing
or losing? "I mean," she continued, taking a bite of her cookie
and chewing thoughtfully, "I mean, don't make a habit out of it
or anything, but it is still very nice." She took another bite
out of her cookie before she said anything else that made her
sound like she had a stick up her butt.
She really did like the compliments though. They were like small
little rays of sun on a cloudy day. And that means you really
need to watch your self esteem. And get more vitamin D. she
thought. The cookie was nice, though, and the company wasn't so
       bad.
"I was wondering where my book had walked off to, though. I
thought I'd left it in the rain, or that someone had walked off
with it.Thank you for returning it." She blushed a bit, because
someone had walked off with it. Just not the person she had
       thought.

"Oh, it's not ruined. It's actually very nice."
"Really?" He asked, eyebrows shooting up high on his forehead.

Potter grinned brightly and did a little dance from his seat on
the table as he took a large bite out of his dessert.
"I was wondering where my book had walked off to, though. I

didn't someone to take it... well, someone who wouldn't write
compliments in it and return it." He winked over at her.
"Thank you for returning it." Her cheeks tinged pink and he
fought the urge to run the back of his hand down her face.
"No problem," he murmured with a shrug. "I needed someone else's
property to deface anyway." There was a beat of silence where he
finished off his cookie and poured them each a cup of punch.
"...That was a joke, by the way."

Zinnia found herself wanting to giggle, of all things, but she
held it back, just smiling instead. But she did relax a little
       bit. "Oh really, now?"
"Nah," he chuckled. "But... uh, I hope you don't hate me for

"Cookie?" Zinnia accepted the treat with an actual smile. Potter
was definitely a sweet kid. And she couldn't call what he had
written 'defacement'. "Oh, it's not ruined. It's actually very
       nice."
"Really?" He asked, eyebrows shooting up high on his forehead.

Potter grinned brightly and did a little dance from his seat on
the table. Zinnia almost laughed, although there was a twinge of
sorrow. She wondered what kind of friend would get upset about
compliments written into a book. It wasn't like he had written
over any of the actual prose.
"I was wondering where my book had walked off to, though. I
thought I'd left it in the rain, or that someone had walked off
       with it."
Potter grimaced a little and bit down on his lip. "I didn't

the rest of the cookie in her mouth to cover it up.

property to deface anyway." There was a beat of silence where he
finished off his cookie and poured them each a cup of punch.
Zinnia almost choked on the cookie pieces that she was in the
process of swallowing, because a laugh had finally bubbled up
and broke free. What actually came out was more of a hacking
cough, until she could get her breathing under control. Her face
       was bright red.
"...That was a joke, by the way."
"I figured that was the case. I tried to laugh and swallow my
cookie at the same time. I'm sorry if I alarmed you at all."
Then she chugged the whole cup of punch, still needing to soothe
her throat. "Sorry." Her face was still hot and pink from both
embarrassment and a brief lack of air. "Wow, sorry. It won't
happen again." She wanted more punch, both to soothe heer throat
some more and to hide for a moment to regain her composure. "May
I have some more punch, please?"

"You are okay?" He asked with wide eyes as he set the punch on

grimacing. "I just didn't want someone to take it... well,
someone who wouldn't write compliments in it and return it." He
       shot her a wink.
"Thank you for returning it." She smiled a bit at Potter before
putting the rest of her cookie in her mouth and trying to chew
       it.
"No problem," he dismissed with a shrug. "I needed someone
       else's property to deface anyway."
There was a brief pause in which Zinnia tried to laugh. She
ended up choking on her cookie instead, and her face was bright
red before she could properly regain her breath. Potter had
slipped off of the table to move closer to her, rubbing her back
while she was recovering. She gulped down a cup of punch
greedily once she had recovered proper use of her throat. Then
she tried to calm her heart down.
"You are okay?" He asked with wide eyes., setting another cup of
punch next to her. "...it was a joke, by the way."
"I figured that was the case. I tried to laugh and swallow my

tried to smile, but failed, still trying to recover her breath a
little bit. He laughed a little bit as she drained another cup
of punch, and this one soothed her throat a little bit more.
"You are the reason that they put warning labels on everything."
He teased, and she would have glared at him if she could see him
       properly.
"Sorry." she said, blushing a little bit. "Wow, sorry. It won't
       happen again."
"Psh." He teased, "You're the one who almost choked to death.
       Don't apologize to me."
"May I have some more punch, please?" Now that she was back to
normal function, she felt color returning to her cheeks.
"Drink mine, I'll get some more."
She looked up at him suspiciously, but drank it down quickly. He
was still perched very close to her, but obviously seemed intent
on making sure she was ok.
"I think I'm good. At least for now." She glanced around, her
eyes landing on the thing of cookies nearby. They were
technically within her reach, but she decided to make Potter get
her one. "Although I think you owe me another cookie." She
raised an eyebrow and smiled up at him innocently.
"So, how was your week?" she asked, wondering idly how long it
