       Corzen Foster-White
He sat in the middle of the garden, sketchpad propped up on his
legs as he made careful, well placed lines. He wasn't sure how
long he'd been there, but his eyes were beginning to hurt from
squinting against the sun and his hand was starting to cramp up.
The playlist on his phone had long faded away and he reached
over to start it up again, before retrieving his water colors
from his bag. It'd been a very long time since he had painted
anything, but the light was just so perfect that he had to give
       it a try.
"Don't listen to a word I say. Hey! The screams all sound the
same. Hey!" He sang quietly as he set up his paints. Stretch
out, he made the first few strokes across the paper and frowned
a bit; the colors were a bit off, but he could work with it.

       Silhouette St. James
The garden was a perfect place to read. Silhouette loved going
there in early mornings or late afternoons when it was cool and
the light was bright but gentle. Today she brought two books
with her that she had yet to decide which one she wanted to read
first. On principal, Silhouette steered away from e-readers and
preferred carrying her books Belle-style, clutched in her hands
and sometimes held against her chest.
She paused on the walkway of the garden, examining her book
choices once more. It was a serious toss-up between Jane Eyre
and Life as We Knew It, two very different novels. Part of her
thought it might appear pretentious to sit in a garden reading a
Bronte book. But then, she'd never really cared if people
thought she was pretentious or not. She loved the Bronte
sisters, and she loved gardens, and if she wanted to sit and
read Bronte in the sunlight then she'd do what she pleased. So,
with that thought, she decided on Jane Eyre, slipping the second
       novel into her purse.
Silhouette read as she walked, an art practiced and perfected
over hundreds of hours throughout her childhood and into her
teenage years. I am the queen of multitasking. She smiled to
herself, seeing from the corner of her eye that she'd made it to
her favorite spot in the garden. She pulled the book down and
away from her face, looking to find a little patch ground to
claim as her own for an hour or so. Instead she found another
person there, just a few paces away.
"Oh! I didn't see you there." A quick look told her that he was
in the zone, busy making art. She knew from her own experience
that she didn't like to be pulled out of her zone, so she made
to walk off and find another spot. "Sorry," she apologized with
a smile. "I'll let you do your art thing."
