Laura Thompson
By: llielo Date: January 21, 2014, 10:18 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Name: Laura Thompson
(Accepted) Nicknames: Just stick with Laura unless you want to
give her a silly, made-up pet name on the spot. In which case
she will enthusiastically answer to it.
Physical Description: Dark eyes, dark cropped hair,
hazelnut-mocha skin. She is of ‘indeterminate’ ethnicity; can
pass as Hispanic, half-black, or east Asian depending on where
she needs to fit in. Slight build. 5’3. Bonus: Size 6 shoes!
Personality & Background:
Laura is the perfect storm of minorities: One quarter Thai, half
black, and a quarter white has left her as a mutt-of-many colors
and a certain uncertainty about what she truly is. Adolescent
angst piled on top of this would leave another teenager
waist-deep in the throes of angst and irritation at the world,
but not Laura. Her perky personality wouldn’t be out of place in
a coffee shop on a Saturday morning, greeting customers with a
cheerful smile and beaming positive energy into regulars hearts
on the regular. Laura is not without her faults however; her
overenthusiastic personality that lends itself to being so
charming in the short-term can bring flakiness and
dissatisfaction with people and relationships. Always looking
for the new thing, she bounces from one person or interest to
the next, but rarely staying with one for long. Her lack of
consistency is as a trait is in itself consistent, but with two
notable exceptions: she has danced since she was a child, though
with only moderate success; and she’s excellent at math, able to
deconstruct problems for hours at a time with relish.
As genetics often plays a major part in talent, Laura’s mother
was a math teacher at the community college where she grew up.
Her father was a construction worker who divorced her mother
when she was 7 years old, leading to typical familial troubles
and kick-starting Laura’s tenacity for making her own way. If
only she could focus a bit more!
Concentration: Math (plus theater as a club, for dance)
AI/Face-claim: To be added.
