We were talking about POW's and how we could create victory
condition variations that the introduction of POW's could
       create.
       1. The Pow Exchange
VP are gained on both sides from the total MP exchanged
rounding up. Units lost for the next 5 turns count against the
owning player by inflicting a penalty of -2 VP per unit
       destroyed.
       2. Free the Pows
Both sides establish Pow Camps. Each camp and hold up to 5
MP. A freed Pow camp places a zero combat power unit on the map
for each MP or partial MP(round up) within. Player owning the
freed Pows must return said units to a division level HQ to gain
2 VP per MP/partial MP returned. Pow units move as foot
soldiers. (maybe allow logistics units to bump up the move?)
Pow units are immediately recaptured if successfully attached
       and do not have a
       defending unit escorting them.

       3. Capture Them all!
VP are gained only from captures and objectives. Destroyed
Units do not count towards VP or else they actually drop VP when
destroyed. Units Auto surrender if they survive the pounding and
have an FCL less then 21%
       4. No Powing
20% to 0% FCL do not surrender. Unit gets a free Ammo when
first reduced to less then 21% FCL. This represents the
desperate last stand as everyone scrounges for every dirty trick
       they can.

Began updating the old Final War Orbats to include new Canon
items. Began with the US and have finished the base USAAF & USA
National Guards and Reserves. Now adding in the new Canon Items
       to those branches. :)

Finished off the Army NG by adding the Yucatan NG units.
Began work on the USMC. In the GV instead of only having one
reserve Marine Division there are three. The 4th, 5th, and 6th
       Marine Divisions.

During the final war era .. is there any militarization of space
besides just satellites ? Do we see the embryo of the first
System Space Forces by the major powers ?

Yep, there sure is. In fact the Pan-Asiatic Alliance and the
AADP have quite a space race going on. The EA is a distant
third, and the WP and IA are not even trying.
Below are a few entries from the new Canon Timeline:
       2009
In a much touted speech President Carlson proclaims the future
of humanity lies with the stars. With the successful maiden
voyage of the newest spaceplane Armstrong he announces that
America is going to build a new space station.
It will be based on the design used in Arthur C. Clarke’s novel,
2001: A Space odyssey. However, the station will be larger and
have three rings instead of two. It will also have smaller rings
closer to the center of the station for low gravity experiments.
The entire world is invited to participate, on the condition
that they pay an equal share of the costs. With an anticipated
price tag of one trillion dollars there are no takers. While
Britain is interested, it cannot afford an equal share of the
cost, let alone the maintenance cost for either the station or
the shuttles that will support the facility.
NASA offers to buy the existing, and now mostly abandoned,
International Space Station from the original partners at
pennies on the dollar. Using its fleet of new spaceplanes the
world watches as the old space station is greatly expanded and
converted into a support platform for construction crews of the
       Clarke Station.
The expanded International Space Station is now officially known
       as the Orbital Construction Platform.
To offset the cost NASA rents space in the older parts of the
OCP to bio-tech firms to develop new products that can only be
       manufactured in zero gravity.
       2010
A press release by NASA, the CSA (Canadian Space Agency), and
the BSA (British Space Agency), announces the planning of a
joint collaboration for a manned flight to the moon for research
       and survey purposes.
       2011
The preliminary mission objectives for the joint manned mission
to the moon are released. These include a full geological and
geographical survey of the moon from orbit. Conduct a survey of
chemical elements on the lunar surface and complete a
high-resolution image map of the entire lunar surface. There
will also be a landing to place telescopes and other survey
equipment to allow for a more detailed visual exploration and
study of the solar system. This will be accompanied by various
geological and mineralogical survey equipment to allow for long
term monitoring and exploration of the moon and its geological
       composition.
Although the mission is to allow for further, more detailed
study of the Moon and the solar system, it will have several
other objectives that will not be made public. These are to
survey the lunar surface to locate a suitable position for the
placement of a base for research, development, and an initial
       industrial base.
The preliminary designs for the spacecraft to take the
astronauts to the moon are begun. It is decided that the Lunar
Landing Module (LLM) will be housed in a separate,
self-contained section of the craft with a guidance system and
engine to allow it to be reused from the orbiting Command Module
when a suitable location for the base has been located. The
guidance system and motor will allow the LLM to be used multiple
times to descend to the Lunar surface.
Preliminary designs for the Moonbase are also begun. It is
decided to have the Command section housing the central part of
the base with corridors radiating off of it, allowing for
research labs, a hangar for construction and testing purposes,
and a center for relaxation and accommodation for the scientists
who are going to be based there.
       Cheers, Thor
