GM_Program

We have resumed programming on the BTS program. The old one was
meant to be a GM program, the new one permits players to
interact. The redoing of the units and how they are structured
is almost complete and programming and data entry can resume
again. thank goodness Ken has offered to do a lot of data entry
for me. In exchange we will have a modding program that will
allow him to do this. Each cap has a lot of data points to make
it far more modifiable then the last Unit Maker program and cap
structure would allow.

Species creation is done, now working on the universe creation.
Each star being able to have 1 to 5 stars in its cluster.
The stars table is done, the planet table is being worked on
now.

Code for generating a cluster of up to five stars is done. Next
is reworking the database to tie these together once it is
saved.
The game will likely have between 5000 to 200 stars depending
on the game size you want to play.

Five star generation is done.
Now working on the complicated positioning of the stars in their
locations. Then we will work on attaching planets/asteroids
fields to the zones for each star.

Okay, positioning stars on a grid and making sure that stars
that orbit stars actually orbited those stars was more
complicated then I thought. Fortunately because of the way the
coords were redone we only need to deal with this now with a
fourth star if one is generated for the star system.
Each star has its coords stored so that intersystem travel can
be calculated correctly instead of faked.
The maps are currently static and likely to remain that way for
the foreseeable future. An animated moving map would be a game
enhancement that can be done in an expansion.

Once the fourth star is fixed it is time for planet generation.
The planets will be generated for each star but stored in a
separate table. Since we are using an automatic increment in the
index and we may have several games in the same database the
information is going to save game information and a star index
for that game. The planets will have game info, and the star
index for who they are matched to.
Now how to assign star systems to a player and keep track of who
has explored what... That is the next work to do after this.
