       The Group Led by MrAnderson
By: Thorgrimm Date: March 15, 2013, 2:07 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
MrAnderson, please assign your people to any tasks you wish.
Please keep in mind that your water supplies will run out in an
       estimated 12 to 14 days.
Anybody whose health is below 50 is considered invalid and
cannot be assigned a Manual or Backbreaking task and unless
given 1 anti-biotic a day, until their health is above 65, will
run the risk of gaining the infection tag, which will accelerate
       their loss of health.
In your general area the soil is a rich black loam that is very
fertile. About half a mile east of your camp, on the other side
of the highway, is a series of small ponds with no visible
source of supply or drainage of water. The pools seem to be
       stagnant.
The morning of April 1st dawns with a beautiful sunrise, with
brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows. Yet you know that these
colors are the result of the particulates thrown into the
atmosphere by the bombardment and subsequent fires.
Please assign any food, water, and medicines to be distributed.
Then assign ant tasks you wish to give your group.
The temperature is a cool 58 degrees Fahrenheit, and the day
promises to be a pleasant one, temperature wise.
Since you are a beginner I will offer a few tips.
1.) you have until November to secure the supplies to survive
the winter. So concentrate on scavenging at first to find
       temporary food and water.
2.) By no later than the beginning of May you will want to have
some sort of permanent food, water, and shelter programs set up.
The Iowa winters are extremely harsh.
3.) By all means, try to avoid contact with other humans until
you are sure they will want to cooperate with you, and not just
kill and take what you have.
4.) Any new survivors that stumble into your camp, I cannot give
any advice, only you as the leader can deal with them.
This list of hints is not very long and is not intended to be
so. I know the net is very handy with all of the data available.
However, I would like you to try and survive on what you know
now, not what you can look up on the net.
Now, stranger, set your people to work and try to survive the
       fall.

people, and are not spotted first, they are to head back to the
camp. If they are spotted, and they are hostile, the scouting
       party is free to engage.
Robbe Anej is to start felling nearby trees for firewood.
Romanov Rascolnicov and Eva Zlata will head east to the pools of
water and attempt to collect water.
Garrett Lyons is to attempt to treat injured survivors, starting
with Joe Halleran, Sarah Majda and John Mordu.
Tatiana Natalija is assigned to lookout duty at the camp during
the day, and Dianna Rockfield during the night.
Dianna Rockfield will work on setting up the tents during the
day, 4 will be used for habitation and 1 will be used as
       storage.
Full rations will be assigned to those who need it. Antibiotics
are assigned to Dianna Rockfield, Tatiana Natalija, Garrett
       Lyons and Arman Gabriel.
Finally, a fire will be lit before dark, and used to boil the
water collected by Romanov and Eva.
Man, these decisions are harder that I had thought they would
be... picking who gets what in a group where almost half of them
need medical attention, and who/what to send with the scavenging
       group.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
1.) Lauren and Vincent travel the half mile to the warehouse,
which turns out to be E&J Metals. It has been looted, but you
can find scrap sections of corrugated tin. They meet no one on
their trips to and fro from the warehouse. They manage, by the
end of the day, to bring back 5 6x8 foot sections of corrugated
tin. Lauren regains 3 points of health, while Vincents regains
       2. They each consume 2 food and 2 water units for a total of 4
       each.
2.) Robbe takes the axe and begins to fell the trees. Not used
to backbreaking manual labor he struggles to get anything done.
In the end he is able to fell a couple of small trees, but the
wood is wet and green. As such it will need to dry out or it
will smoke greatly when burned. Robbe loses 5 health due to the
blisters that develop on his hands. He manages to bring in two
days worth of green wood. Robbe consumes 3 food and 3 water.
3.) Romanov and Eva head to the pools of water and decide that
the top and center ponds are too full of pond scum as to be
useful without heavy treatment. The southern pond may be useful,
but you lack any containers to fill with the water. The two
finally decide to refill the containers you already have as the
water they contain is used. Romanov and Eva consume two units of
food and two units of water, for a total of 4 each. They are
able to refill the containers with 13 units of untreated or
filtered water. Romanov and Eva both regain 2 points of health.
4.) Garrett, who's health is 48, and thus an invalid, cannot do
anything to help the others beyond giving advice and treating
himself. Unfortunately nobody is left in camp who is not an
invalid, and thusly no medicines, food, or water can be
distributed to the invalids. Garrett crawls to the food and
water stocks and consumes 1 food, 1 water and 1 anti-biotic.
Garrett regains 10 health, to 58. He will be able to perform
       admin duties tomorrow.
5.) Tatiana cannot do much beyond see within 25 feet of her bed,
being an invalid. With no food, water, or medicine Tatiana loses
6 health, down to 29, and gains the infected tag.
6.) Dianna is an invalid and in no condition to move, much less
set up the tents. With no food, water, or medicine Dianna loses
10 health and slips into a coma.
7.) The only persons left in camp who can obtain any rations are
Garrett, see above, and Joe. The rest go without.
A.) Joe consumes 1 food and 1 water. He regains 6 health, to
55, and tomorrow will be able to only do admin work.
B.) Sarah loses 3 health and slips into a coma.
C.) Arman loses 6 health, down to 19, and slips into a coma.
D.) John loses 1 health, down to 31.
By days end your group has consumed 13 food, down to 237, 13
water, down to 137 pure and 13 untreated, and 1 anti-biotic,
       down to 9.
When you return to camp at sunset you realize that three of your
group has slipped into comas and will, in all likelihood, not
       see the morning.
Garrett advises you that treating the comatose trauma victims is
beyond his skills as an EMT. It would take a fully stocked
hospital to treat their injuries and halt their slide into
death's embrace. The accusing look in his eyes and the unspoken,
but recognized, implication is that he holds you responsible for
their deaths. For not leaving someone behind who could care for
the injured. You get the feeling that Garrett does not trust you
       as much anymore.
You make the fire and begin to boil the water when John groans
out that the smoke will be able to be seen for miles and that it
may attract others to your camp. In the boiling process you lose
2 units of water. Bringing your stock of treated water to 148
       units.
By the time the sun completely sets you get the feeling that
today was not a good day, and that a lot of the others do not
       trust your judgement as much.

April 2nd dawns bright and clear. It is 62 degrees and a woman,
Martha Maxwell stumbles into your camp. She says she saw your
fire last night and headed for your location. She begs you to
       let her join your group.
       Martha Maxwell
       Age: 23
Date of Birth: July 3rd, 2023
Former Profession: Paralegal with Independence Business
       Associates of Davenport Iowa
       Ethnicity: Mongoloid
       Health: 66
       Loyalty/Fear: ?
       Willingness to Follow Orders: ?
       Sense of Entitlement: ?
       Your options are thus:
1.) Let her join and assign her a task
2.) Send her away since she may have been followed.
Over the night all three comatose victims pass away. You get the
feeling that their knowledge base will be sorely missed in the
       coming days.
Please assign any tasks you wish, and deal with the newcomer.

this time at the NE Convenience store. They are to bring the
revolver and 12 bullets. Should they encounter any people, and
are not spotted first, they are to head back to the camp. If

Robbe Anej and the newcomer will set up the tents at the camp.
Romanov Rascolnicov is to make buckets out of one sheet of tin,
       for water collection and cooking.
Joe Halleran will stay at the camp and tend to those who can't
get food and water for themselves.
Eva Zlata will stay near the camp and bury the bodies.
All members of the group will receive full rations.

1.) Garrett treats John and Tatiana. With access to
anti-biotics, food, and medicine he manages to stabilize Tatiana
and allow John to heal. Tatiana does not lose any health while
John regains 10 health to 40. The three of them consume 3 food,
3 water, and 1 bandage, total. Garrett regains 6 health, to 64.
2.) Lauren and Vincent once again head out to scavenge, this
time to the Big 10 Mart. On their way there they spot 2 armed
men, but manage to wait them out and eventually the men leave.
Once they arrive at the Big 10 Mart they find it looted.
Although, curiously, the rack selling seeds, of all kinds, is
untouched. They manage to find enough corn and tomato seeds to
fully plant one plot of land. They also manage to recover 1 two
gallon plastic bucket and one case of bottled water, equal to 6
units of pure water. They consume a total of 4 food and 4 water.
Lauren regains 3 health to 80. Vincent regains 8 health to 85.
3.) Robbe and Martha set up the tents within the hour and when
finished help tend to the wounded. When Garrett finishes with
John and Tatiana he bandages Robbe's blisters, so that they do
not become infected. They consume 1 food and 1 water each for a
total of 2 each. Robbe's blisters requires 1 unit of bandages.
Martha regains 2 health up to 68. Robbe regains 7 health, to 82.
4.) Romanov, without any tools or training, cannot fashion
anything out of the tin. So he helps Eva bury the dead. For his
trouble he loses 3 health due to the blisters, down to 81, that
develop on his hands. Romanov consumes 3 food, 3 water, and 1
bandage when Garrett bandages his hands at the end of the day.
5.) Joe Helps Garrett tend to the wounded. He consumes 1 food
and 1 water. He regains 4 health, to 59.
6.) Eva begins to bury the dead. Due to the kindness of Romanov
the task is very much easier for her. She still loses 4 health,
down to 64, due to the blisters that develop on her hands. She
consumes 3 food, 3 water, and 1 bandage when Garrett bandages
her hands at the end of the day. When the task is completed Eva
and Romanov, together, say a quiet prayer for the dead.
At the end of the day your group has consumed 16 food, down to
221, 16 water, down to 111, added 6 units which bring the total
       back up to 117, 4 bandages, down to 196, and 2 anti-biotics,
       down to 7.
By the time the sun fully sets and the group feels just a bit
safer than they did when darkness arrived yesterday.

Martha and Eva will prepare a patch of the nearby loam for
planting to the best of their ability, and plant corn when
       ready.
At the end of the day, purify the collected water with a fire,
using the wood collected by Robbe previously.
