quest of riches

chapter one
our hero?
"what do you want?" the voice questioned angrily it's source
veiled by the shadows of a cave carved delicately in the
mountainside . the woman standing in front of the cave answered
"what do i want? what do i want?!" the woman screamed to the
voice angry and exasperated "i want what all who have sought you
want great and vast riches that's why I've tracked you this far"
the voice within the cave laughed shaking the very ground
around it, "you want riches you say, well they're all yours."
the cave began to collapse as a massive form broke forth from
the, a massive dragon with claws sharper than the scythe of
death, and scales that gleamed like precious gems. the beast
looked down at the woman before him and spoke "yes my scales are
all yours if you can take them from me" and as the dragon lunged
to attack the woman i woke up.
i jolted up covered in sweat from the vivid dream i had just
had "why?" i thought to my self "why was i dreaming of the time
mom and dad first met?". deciding to put the thought out of my
mind i looked around the room it was the inn me and lexi had
stopped at on our way to Neo-Camelot, but i didn't remember
going bed. its the that i notice a shuffling on either side of
me. two very attractive women where laying at either side of me,
and then i remembered. i had gotten a little tipsy last night
and and ended up going to bed with these total strangers. i
guess lexi was right that forty-third barrel of brandy was
really pushing my limits. then i realized "oh i hope i didn't
kick her out of the room last night", i whispered softly. that
poor girl is probably the only partner I've had that's put up
with my sleeping around as much as i do. i mean it's not like i
asked to have breasts so shapely they can attract any woman it
just sort of happened that way. i get out of bed careful not to
disturb the girls who where still sleeping. heading over to a
mirror, i look over myself, i'm small, not necessarily a bad
thing in my line of work, and besides with my shapley the ladies
dont even care i cant reach the top shelf. my very long very,
very unmanageable dark blue hair was out of it's usual ponytail
and instead was a mass of bed head that reached well to the
floor. sometimes i wish that i could cut it but turns out half
dragon hair is every thing but indestructible, and before you
say it i already tried making Armour out of it when i was five,
lets just say the bear laughed itself to death and left it at
that. i move may hair to feel the small amount of scales, it
reminds me of dad even if ive only seen him twice in my life. as
im admiring my self i hear a the door nob turn, and look to see
the incredibly beautiful woman that is my partner.
"are you done yet" she asks very quietly and reserved. lexi con
my partner and closest personal friend. she's been with me ever
since i opened her duty old pages five years ago. you see she's
not a normal person in fact she's not a person at all but a very
powerful magic book known as an animus lexicon. to think that my
original goal was to sell her to some rare book collector in
some remote kingdom, i mean look at her she's so cute. she's
tall and very thin, with gorgeous auburn hair always kept neatly
trimmed, and her calculating cobalt eyes always full of
curiosity and a desire to learn. when she took human form for
the first why i proposed on the spot, and was swiftly rejected,
but she decide to travel with me all the same.
"yeah i'm all done" i say as i'm putting on my usual outfit, a
blue tube top with matching hoodie and shorts. my steel plated
hiking boots, and to top off the outfit a dragon claw hair pin
to keep my crazy hair up. "come on lexi lets go we want to get
to Neo-C as quickly as possible", but before i can leave a voice
speaks up
"excuse me what about us" i look to see the girls where a wake.
i flash a grin "sorry ladies no round two for me i got some
important business to take care of and need to get going"
the girls give me a look that could freeze over a volcano
"that's fine, but i'm talking about our pay"
i stand their unable to move "p-pay?"
"that's right, you promised us five hundred gold pieces each
last night" one of the girls said
lexi chimes in "she is correct master "
i clear my throat before speaking "i see... well looks like
there's only one solution", and in a flash i grab lexi by the
wrist and run dragging her behind me, the hookers in swift
pursuit.
"damn it get back here and pay" they yell from the door way of
the inn, but me and lexi are already out of town.
