       Premise-
This is a place that has no address, no position in the stars,
and no latitude or longitude. It simply exists. Each day is not
a day at all, by normal standards. There is no day and night,
only beginnings and ends. Twelve hours pass, twelve are
forgotten, and the next period begins. There is a chance every
period of hours to become something new, to change a past event,
or continue to the future. Awakening is different every time in
this place. Always a different scene unfolds before one’s eyes.
Waking up is fearful and exhilarating, who knows what will be
found on the other side of closed eyes?
...other beings exist in the world with us. We are lucky to
remember meeting anyone or anything. Twelve hours forgotten do
much to hinder the mind and yet, somehow we know, we are not
       alone...

The sky opened like curtains, windows are often opened to
greet the light of day, but behind the blue sky was a void, an
all consuming blackness. Everything slowed and the world around
her began to melt into the darkness. She screamed, but sound had
been lost, only to be replaced by a constant powerful throbbing,
like the heartbeat of a dying world.
It took all she had to run... past a large, old, oak tree....
down a broken path.... towards the last light she could see....
The ground began to fade away, only to reveal more emptiness...
she was slowly consumed, disappearing with all of the world into
       the darkness.
You know how when you dream sometimes you forget exactly what
       happened?
That's how I feel all the time when I wake up,
As if there is something I forgot about the period before,
Sometimes memories return and other times they slip away
       forever...
Alexandria Tyreal opened her eyes to blinding light. She was
on her back in an open field of dirt. She stood and began to
walk, slowly at first, and then with increasing speed. She felt
like she was running from something, but what?
Why can't I remember? What is this place?
She stopped running a grabbed her head, closing her eyes.
Searching for something, anything to help her understand what
       she was doing there...

Chris's face was alight with joy as he stared at her. He
couldn't take his eyes off 'her,' and he had a feeling she felt
the same. The light cut through the old tree above. Chris got a
little closer to her, and she didn't seem to mind when he slowly
wrapped his arms around her. He felt her hair against his arms
as he enveloped her in an amazing embrace. Chris slowly leaned
forward, and she did as well before their lips touched. They
were soft like silk, and all he could think about was her. Chris
slowly realized that he would do anything for her. She pulled
away and what felt like an eternity was still too short.
She had this knowing look in her eyes, as if to say 'Too much of
a good thing isn't a good thing' and it made Chris grin. He
stared into her ruby eyes, and slowly began to lean forward,
when he saw it, out of the corner of his eye.
Like the light flees from the sun, a shadow was racing towards
them. It destroyed everything it came across, and beyond the
shadow was nothing. No light or dark, no shadow, just nothing.
Chris gasped, and she slowly turned and saw it. A moment later
she was gone, and he was in darkness.
The dark was warm, and seemed to beckon him to sleep, and it
came with ease. Chris awoke under the same tree, but minus one
thing. Her. Her love, her very being was gone, and at that
moment it became clear that he wouldn't see her again. Tears
fell from Chris's eyes with ease, and he lay there. The sobs
came in waves, and the grass brushed his arm. Chris's sword and
sheath was against his body at an awkward angle, almost propping
him off the ground. But all he could think about was her.

…something ran into Alex and she opened her eyes and looked
around. The scene before her was not the same as it had been
just moments ago. She was in a room... but everything was
blurry. The walls and floor seemed to warp and flow like water,
even though when she moved, she felt like she was standing on
       solid ground.
Alex gasped as she looked around. The room was filled with
people wearing black cloaks. Their faces were like the walls and
the floor, blurry and unrecognizable, though she felt like she
should know who they all were...
There! A face! She had seen it for just a split second before
the figure turned and walked towards a door on the far side of
the room. She hurried after the figure, trying to catch it
before it disappeared. Reaching out, she grabbed the figure's
shoulder and spun it around. All she saw was another obscure,
       blurry face.
No! You had a face, I know you did! The figure simply grasped
her hand and mumbled something she couldn't understand before
returning to the rest of the crowd...
The only thing she could think to do was go through the door
that the figure was originally heading towards. Turning on her
heel, she sped off in that direction. Right before she made it
to the door, one of the black cloaked figures stood in her path
and very clearly said, “You are not ready...”
...the figure's arm shot out and hit Alex square on the chest,
sending her flying across the room...

Fell woke up in his living nightmare. The
walls were covered in fungi and were beaten down to a pulp. The
floor was littered with library books and covered in a liquid.
It scared Fell. To the point he blacked out and woke up again,
this time just trying to find a way out of the room. He looked
around the room for anything that could give him a clue to where
he was. Rustling through the books that were strewn across the
room, Fell found a key to the door that was imprisoning him in
the room. He didn't know what to expect when he opened the door,
but he sure as hell did not expect this. The fungi had turned
into actual flesh on the walls and a spongy surface on the
floor, he did not want to know what it was. There was no one
else in the room, but himself, so when he heard something crash
onto the ground, he panicked and hid in the other room. He came
back to the room, dumb struck. This was Fell's own living hell.
No one was in the building, he was by his lonesome. He cried
himself to a deep and dark slumber.
Later, when Fell woke up, he woke up in a room
with a normal bed and books laying around on his floor. He had
no idea what he dreamed of, but what he did find was his old
Swiss army Pocketknife, shattered on the floor. He was depressed
about that, it was his Grandfather's from the war. He had no
recollection of what had occurred or how it happened. When Fell
walked down from the stairs, he found his mother making
breakfast right before she head off to work. "Hey mom, what are
the plans for tonight?" he asked. She responded with something
that made his heart sink within his chest. "We are going to your
       grandfather's funeral."

Aron opened his eyes to find himself standing on a road made of
a rainbow of colors, the road forked just in front of him. The
path to the left was black and the path to the right was white.
He felt a distinctive pull to both paths.
He heard a menacing voice say "You have two paths, make your
choice or suffer the consequences." He sat there for a moment
indecisive when the pulling feeling on his body suddenly
increased. He felt himself begin to pull apart from the force
then he blacked out from the pain.
He woke up wearing a black glove on his left hand that looked
like it had sheets of metal in it. On his left he had a white
glove that felt heavy. His shirt was solid black on one half and
       solid white on the other.

Chris slowly recovered from the sobs, and began to think
logically. "She's probably out there somewhere," he thought to
himself as he looked around. "Yeah, somewhere," He slowly stood
up, and right before he got on his feet suddenly fell flat on
his back again. Chris had forgotten about the extra weight of
the sword, and this time made sure to get up fully. He slowly
drew his sword, and tested the weight, creating a wood target in
front of himself. Chris had experience, after all he had been in
the world for almost 3,000 'days'. But this was still the first
time he had woken up without 'her,' and, despite his false hope,
he knew he would never wake up with her again. Chris had never
braved the dark without her, and he knew it would take a million
'days' to find her again. He lunged at the target, spinning to
cut the target clean in half. Chris stopped the blade right
before it hit the ground, and made the target whole again before
he continued. Then, they came. A small shadow came out of the
tree, only about an inch wide, and in the shape of a rain drop.
It was just that, though, a shadow. Nothing else, just absence
of light. It crawled down the tree, and across the grass to
Chris's leg. Chris noticed it, right as it touched him. He
smiled, because it was almost cute, but moved his leg. It
crawled onto his right foot, which was closer, and then it
happened. His foot was gone, and the shadow was taking anything
it touched with it. He screamed in agony, and fell backwards,
his right arm landing on his sword, and it cut halfway through,
but not all the way. The bone was visible, and slightly cracked,
but soon the view of his bone was blocked by blood. So much
blood. Rivers of blood flowed as more shadows came from the
tree. At this point, Chris was missing his leg up to his thigh,
and he started to crawl away screaming. The sun lay speckled
light across his figure as he crawled away, barely faster then
the shadow. Despite this, more shadows were coming, millions of
them. Chris tried to use his right arm in his panic, but only
screamed again when he felt the sudden electric pain. He was
quite a sight, with his river of blood following a figure with
almost no right arm, and no right leg at all. Chris suddenly
fainted, his head landing in the pool of blood he had produced.

Alex smashed through the wall on the opposite side and landed
underneath a large oak tree, outside the building.
It took her several moments to regain complete consciousness.
When she did, she looked around. It was clear now, what kind of
building she had been in. It was a church, a large old, stone
church. She recognized it from somewhere... where... danget!
       Where!?
She tried to pull herself to her feet and screamed in agony, a
root of the oak tree was protruding from her left thigh. Roots
aren't meant to grow that way... She tried to pull herself up
and off of the root, but the more she lifted her leg up, the
longer the root became. What is happening to me? For the next
several moments, what seemed like an eternity to Alex, she
fought with the root, trying to get her leg free. The more she
struggled, the more the root seemed to attach itself to her,
soon enough it was wrapped around her thigh and slowly twisting
       around her torso.
Just accept it, accept it because you cannot change it... the
root continued to twist itself around her... Is it even
worthwhile to fight a losing battle... The root began to
tighten, slowly at first, then with increased power... No, give
up now, why fight... she could feel her muscles giving up and
       her body slowly going limp...
       No...
       Don't...
       Give up...

Aron got up and found himself on the rainbow road again, but the
white and black paths were no where in sight. Suddenly a blurry
gray person appeared and came running straight towards him. Aron
reflexively put out his left hand in a fist and was surprised
when sharpened metal popped out of his black glove and impaled
       the man.
The strange man turned into ash and blew away. A small blotch
of black appeared on the white side of his shirt. Aron tried to
pull of the blotch of color but found he couldn't touch it. He
shrugged and kept walking on the rainbow path, but all the
colors seemed to get darker and darker until everything
       vanished.

Fell got dressed for the funeral in the classic black tuxedo
that you see commonly. He took the shattered pocketknife with
him. He planned on to put it to rest with his grandfather in the
casket. Why grandpa.. He was too good of a person to die. Fell
went to his room and slammed the door. He walked into the closet
and screeched and bawled until his mother came in and comforted
him. “Why mom? Why does happen to good people? Why them?” Fell’s
mom didn’t answer him, just walked away. After everyone was
ready to depart, they all loaded up in the limo and went to the
cemetery. Everyone’s faces were so bleak. The sky was a dark
grey and it was about to rain. Fell hated the rain. Always did,
he doesn’t remember why, though. Whenever he thinks about it, he
gets distracted and forgets. As they were all getting out, Fell
tripped on the ground and hit his head and was knocked
       unconscious..
When fell woke up, it was raining, but not the normal rain you
see. It was blood. The grass looked desecrated and on it was the
blood that was raining from the red sky. Gravestones were
broken, everything was twisted and dark. It wasn’t the normal
gray he remembered, it was now pitch black with blood
everywhere. Fell ran in the pitch black world until he found his
grandfather’s gravestone.. It was the only normal gravestone.
The only NORMAL gravestone. Fell was scared to his wits end
about that, so he just ran. He ran until he found a ledge that
led into the nearby lake. It was probably about a 50ft drop
until someone would hit the lake. Fell thought this was perfect.
Thinking about what was happening in his life freaked him out.
It always has. His only friend, his grandfather, was dead. He
didn’t want to live a lonely life. He decided this was the only
way. So he got himself further away and walked up the edge of
the cliff. His mother yelled his name, but he didn’t hear it.
What he did hear was the voice inside his head, screaming to end
it all. He decided he finally would. He jumped and thought to
himself.. I’ve never been truly loved. Never. Damn this life.
Damn those people. They will feel the way he did. Insecure,
Scared.. but most of all.. lonely. Damn them all. As he hit the
       blood-water, he blacked out instantly.
