The Iron-Hearted Mercenary

On the outskirts of the city, a cold wind travels with the
silent tapping of feet walking towards the city. A golden-furred
hedgehog stops and looks down at his left wrist, a Nitro Ring
equipped to it. After looking at a holographic display, it
deactivates and he continues into the city.
"So, I'm finally here..." He mumbles to himself. Then continuing
into the city.

Just outside the front gates, a podgy beige cat sat in the shade
of the walls, smiling as the wind blew through her fur. Natasha
liked this town; it was so much more quiet compared to Miana,
but it was still a city. Odd, being that she wasn't much of a
city girl, but Mobotropolis felt... right. She reached for a bag
of chocolate drops (basically M&Ms) sitting at her side,
dropping a few pieces into her mouth and chewing away happily.
It wasn't until Nero was only a few feet from her that her ear
twitched and he noticed him. Natasha pulled her legs up, sitting
in the fetal position, and wrapped her tail around herself; she
noticed the way he carried himself, and for the first time that
day felt uncomfortable, which was surprising considering that
she had been happily snacking away only moments ago. She popped
another chocolate drop into her mouth, using her jacket to try
and hide her pudgy figure; she hoped he wouldn't be the kind of
person to take interest in picking on her.

Dripping wet, soaked to the bone, Sapphire zoomed her way
through the trees and shrub that lead towards Mobotropolis,
within seconds she'd reached the city's gate, and seeing two
people nearby she dug her boots heels into the ground, hoping to
skid to a stop before reaching them, she didn't want to bump
into anyone and bowl them over which she was known for doing
quite often.
Well, she managed to not hit either of the two, but slipped
backwards and slid across the ground, sliding right beside
Natasha's feet, "Hello!" She smiled, giving her a quick wave
before she got to her feet and rubbed her back, and elbows she'd
only grazed them, she'd be fine, she was more worried about how
soaked she was and about the device in her right wrists
bracelet.
She sped over to Nero, and before anyone could react, she had an
arm around him and an arm around Natasha, "I hate to be a bother
you two, but I really, really need help" She said rather
quickly, looking from one to the other, "Do either of you speak,
understand or can read, Spanish?" She asked.
Why on Mobius was this important?

"...Uh... I..." Natasha was kind of startled by how quickly
Sapphire had seemingly just appeared, and the fact that she was
sopping wet didn't exactly help; she didn't exactly enjoy the
feel of water against her fur unless it was something of her own
doing. Still, she had heard Sapphire say that she needed help,
and that was enough for her to push that feeling aside. "...I-I
can speak Spanish... W-what was it that you needed help with?.."
She hid her bag of chocolates in her coat and kept her tail
wrapped tightly around her waist. Of all days someone would ask
her for help, it would have to be the day she was stuffing her
face like a glutton; it was embarrassing, but she'd feel even
worse if she didn't help this person.

"I can speak Spanish." He replied, looking directly at the blue
hedgehog that had requested his assistance.
"What is it that you need me to help you with?" He asked, the
tone of his voice barely changing to accommodate the situation.

The hedgehog's face lit up when both of them said they could
speak Spanish, "I'm glad I bumped into you two then! It'll be
handy to know where someone who can speak Spanish is, while my
Friend's locked in 'Spanish Mode' for the moment" She probably
sounded a bit crazy.
She let the two go, giving them both a quick handshake, while
saying "Pleasure to meet you! My name's Sapphire, Sapphire the
Hedgehog!" as she did so with a smile. "What's your names?" She
asked, looking from Nero to Natasha.
She then paused sniffing the air, "Chocolate?" She looked at
Natasha, "Great day to be chilling out and having chocolate, I
would be doing the same if I could!" She said happily, before
looking to Nero, "And what are you up to?" She asked, "I'll put
the Spanish thing on hold for now, I'll sort it out later once
I've found somewhere to stay inside the city, and a place to
grab a bite when I need-" Her tummy growled, "Which'll be soon"

"All right. Well, when you need me, you can call over just by
pressing down on this." Nero replies as he hands Sapphire a
strange coin, and begins to walk away. At least, not before
looking at Natasha... with a glare that would send chills down
the spine of even the most stalwart person.
"Farewell for now."

Natasha was a little bit bewildered, to say the least, by
Sapphire's mention of a friend being 'locked in Spanish mode'.
"M-my name's Natasha," she stammered as the hedgehog quickly
shook her hand. "I-it's a pleasure to meet you, Sapphire." She
glanced to Nero as he walked away, leaving them alone; but not
before giving her that stare. That spine-chilling,
heart-stopping glare... If it weren't for Sapphire asking about
her chocolate, she probably would of screamed. Luckily, the
question managed to make her turn her head back to the young
girl before she did. Then she mentioned needing a place to stay,
and getting some food to eat; heck, with the growling of her
stomach, it almost felt like Sapphire was a hedgehog version of
Natasha... Almost.
She smiled nervously and pulled out the bag of chocolate drops;
"W-well, in the mean time then, I still have some chocolate;
would you like some? O-or would you rather get something to eat
instead? I know a place that makes really good chili-dogs,
cheese fries, pretzels..."

Sapphire looked confused slightly at the coin she was handed,
"Uhhh... Ok?" She said, looking back up to see him give Natasha
a nasty look, which did not please her at all.
She turned back to the cat, "Natasha... What a lovely name!" She
said, shrugging off the thought of Nero.
She looked to the bag of chocolates that Natasha pulled out,
"Oh! Thank you!" She said happily along with a smile. But as
soon as Natasha said the word 'Chilidogs' she started to bounce
up and down excitedly, "Did you say Chilidogs!?" She squealed
just as excitedly as her bounces, "Where?! Where?! Where?!"

The way Sapphire bounced at the mere mention of chili-dogs, it
was a cheerful sight. Natasha giggled as she watched the
energetic hedgehog, forgetting entirely about Nero. "Easy there,
Sapphire! Hehehe!" She didn't even notice that she had loosened
her tail's grip around her waist, causing it to slump down and
reveal her pudgy figure. Sapphire was being too delightful to
care, really. "Come on, I'll show you; it's not that far from
here. We can even have a little chat while we're there, get to
know each other better!" She grabbed Sapphire's hand and smiled,
pulling her past the main gate and into the city.
