Seeing the wince as she said 'slow down', Ajax ruffled her hair
again and smiled; "Heheh, that's right. And don't worry, you
don't have to slow down for long." He pulled a few cutting
boards out, as well as the knives they'd be using. As he took
one of the apples, he cut it to remove the core and sliced it
into wedges. "I'll cut it into wedges, and then you cut it into
smaller chunks; sound like a plan?"

Hearing she did have to slow down for too long lifted her
spirits and mood, she watched Ajax pull out a few cutting boards
and knives to go along, she tilted her head to the side watching
him cut up the apple, her long blue head shifting to one side,
"Sounds like a plan to me" She smiled, "Hang on-" She'd been
told it was best to keep your hair out of your food when
preparing meals and such, who wants to eat hair? And if her's
got in the food, everyone would know it was her's, being blue
and all. She also remembered her mother taking off her gloves
before handling food and washing her hands, there was simply 'No
time for nasty germs to give us bad tummy bugs!'.
Sapphire slipped her fingertip gloves off and set them on a back
of one of the chairs by the table Natasha and her had sat at
earlier. She unclipped her wrist bracelets and set the blue one
on the table but then pulled up her hair and clipped it up with
her red bracelet.
She then went back to Ajax and washed her hands before grabbing
a spare knife and chopping board, and taking the bits of apple
he had already sliced up, and began chopping them up into
smaller chunks is like they'd planned, "Keep 'em comin Ajax" she
said before trying to start some conversation for while they
worked away at the food. "So, how's it feel Ajax? You're going
to be a a Dad soon".

"Heh, it's kind of hard to explain, Sapph..." He cored the
apples quickly and chopped them into large chunks, gently
pushing them to the side for Sapphire as he started on the next
one. "Who knows, maybe you'll be a parent yourself someday,
huh?" He leaned in with a goofy smile and nudge her with his
shoulder before pressing his cheek against her head, chuckling.
"It really is a heartwarming sensation though. Every time I see
her with that swollen gut of hers, I just fill up with joy;
we've tried to keep everything normal though. We do yoga
together, jog together... You'd be surprised how little that
baby belly affects her."
He paused for a moment as he cut the last apple into its chunks.
"You ever think about being a mother, Sapph?.. I think you'd
make an amazing parent..."

Sapphire listened, cutting up the large chunks of apple into
smaller parts like instructed.
The hedgehog's head went up after his comment and leaning in
goofy smile and nudge, she looked at him with her mouth hanging
slightly open, she was quick to smile though as he pressed his
cheek against her head and chuckled, any kinda of happy laugh
was enough to make her laugh as well. "Uhh, Mmm, I dunno, maybe"
She said in response finally.
Her warm smile came back hearing his statement on how he felt
and how seeing Natasha with her baby belly made him fill up with
joy. "Aww Ajax, that's really sweet~" It was really, she was
happy to see close ones so happy together.
She watched him cut the last apple, and then looked at him again
after his question, "Me?" She questioned, trying to picture it
in her head, she'd been told that she was pretty good around
kids, possibly because she was a bit of a kid at heart herself,
but being a mother... Well for starters here, who would be the
father? She had one person come to mind.
She put a hand behind her head, "Really? And Oh, I uh- Nah, I've
never really thought about it before, no" She had gone a bit
pink in the face, but looked to Ajax and raised an eyebrow
slightly, "Could you really see anyone wanting to put up with
this?" She asked, sticking her tongue out as she ran on the spot
for a moment before stopping, "Yeah, I think I'm not the best
partner for anyone really" She trailed off, her eyelids lowering
slightly before she nodded and looked to Ajax again with a
shrug, "Ah, but that's okay, I don't really mind" She said
quickly. But was her statement true?

Ajax simply smiled as Sapphire spoke, pulling a pineapple over
and cutting the spiny skin off. "Are you kidding, Sapph? You may
not think it, but I'd say you getting a man would be a piece of
cake." With one last quick chop, the fruit was entirely exposed,
and he began slicing away circles for Sapphire to mince. "You're
active, you're kind, you're beautiful..." For a short moment he
stopped and kissed her forehead. "If I weren't almost old enough
to be your father, I'd probably be swooning over you. I settle
for looking at you like a daughter, though. You just need a bit
of time to find your perfect man." He didn't know who that man
would be, but he knew she would find him some day. After all, he
never thought he'd ever find a girl like Natasha, but he did...
There was someone out there for the little speedster, he knew
it.

Sapphire way he him again as he pulled a pineapple over and
began cutting away at it's spiny skin, she laughed gently at his
first comment, "Cake? Where?" She joked, looking around before
focusing back on her task with another gentle laugh, but maybe
Ajax was right? Well hey now, Ajax was usually right with lots
of things.
Sapphire started mincing away at the parts she was given, being
careful with her knife.
She made a soft surprised gasp when he stopped to kiss her
forehead, but her smile came back again, she let out a giggle,
"Seems like other guys don't see me the same as you I guess
Ajax" She said softly, almost cutting one of her fingers, she
bit her lower lip at the close call, but continued. "Perfect
man... Yeah".
Sapphire kicked her right foot and glanced to Ajax, "Say uh
da-Ajax?" She chewed on her lower lip, looking down at the
pineapple slices, "When you first met Natasha, or when you first
got the kinda 'love' affections towards her, what feelings
exactly did you get?" She paused for a moment, "Did you get the
famous tummy butterflies? Tummy knots even? The slow-motions of
her whenever she came into your view and.." She looked up and
seemed to be drifting off somewhat, "His voice, sounding like it
was dipped in, sweet, sweet honey...every word is just bliss and
I could just listen to him talk all day" Someone was off with
the fairies, "Not just his voice too, his face an his
everything, quite the runner too and Ohh what a swing <3 and-"
She blinked and shook her head, seeming to snap out of it, she
picked up her knife again and began cutting away again, "Uhah!
Sorry! Uhhh, that was out of the BLU- blue, blahblugbleh"

"Oh, you got a boy in mind?" Ajax chuckled; he could tell just
from the way talking. Still, it would be rude to not answer her
question. "Well... I guess you could say I got the butterflies,
but it wasn't immediately. And a lot of it was... just feeling
my thoughts drift off to her." He paused for a moment, setting
the knife down after he finished with the pineapple, so he
wouldn't cut himself. "The slow-motions, the tummy knots... They
didn't happen when I looked at her, they happened when I slept.
I would find myself thinking of her at almost any time, and at
first I wasn't sure she liked me that way. But, as time went
on... It just went that way."
He pulled over a small stool and sat down, looking to Sapphire
with a smile. "You just have to go with it. You'll feel those
butterflies, those knots, and you won't really know why at
first; but then, when you glimpse at 'em, you'll know why. All
you've gotta do is see where it takes you." As he finished, he
spread his arms out, reaching for the hedgehog gently to hug
him. "No matter what though, I'll be here for ya, okay?"

Sapphire went a bit red, but didn't shake her head, she didn't
really nod either though, she wasn't exactly sure, okay, she had
a guy in mind, but was it because she really did have feelings
towards him? Or had she gained her mother's trait of falling and
obsessing over someone? Her mother grew out of that of course,
but Sapphire had always been afraid of and tried to avoid her
having that happen.
She looked to Ajax and listened as he answered her question, it
was beautiful to listen to how he had felt towards Natasha, she
tilted her head slightly and managed a smile, she finished with
the pineapple before fully turning her attention to the Lynx,
just wanting to talk and listen to him now.
She looked as he brought over a stool and smiled at her, she
smiled back, and out a hand on her tummy, her other hand on her
chin.
When he spread his arms out she flung herself into a hug with
the fatherly lynx, "Thanks Ajax..." She said softly, as she
pressed her head against his chest.
She then pulled away and twirled her index fingers around each
other, looking away, "Okay, so maybe I've got a guy in mind
already, but-" She was thinking back over what Ajax had said,
they where all good things, but Natasha had liked Ajax back, she
bounced her index finger tips against the other, glancing up at
Ajax, "I get all o' that, all the butterflies, all the knots and
twists and slow motions, all the hours thinking on him and all
that" She put her hands behind her back and kicked her right
foot again, "But like you said you felt at first, you weren't
sure she liked you back, what if he doesn't feel the same way
about me? I mean" She felt odd talking about this, she hadn't
even really talked to Robin about this, and she told Robin
everything, mind you, he had been busy the past few months, she
understood that, and respected it too, Fem was pregnant after
all. She hugged her right arm, she didn't know how to feel on
all this, it was all so confusing and she didn't know what to
think half the time, that falls under confusing doesn't it? Ack.
She put her hands in her hair and stuck out her lower lip, "It
kills me not to know! We work in the same team, which I'm at
majority of the time, and I dunno, I never pick up any signs
from him, probably because I'm too busy fantasising over him to
notice..." She bit her right index finger, "He's probably too
busy for any of this kinda stuff, I guess I am too..." She let
out a soft sigh, looking at the ground.

The hug was a warm one; he was glad to be such a fatherly figure
for Sapphire. "Well, Sapph," he started, "you never know until
you ask them. Have you ever thought about asking the lad out?"
He kissed her forehead again before pulling her to sit on his
knee. "It doesn't have to be anything special, just a chance for
you two to get to know each other. Have some lunch together,
maybe a couple chilidogs?" He chuckled a little as he said that;
yeah, that'd be the perfect little date for a girl like her,
being the mirror image of her father she was. "Just chat with
him; you'd be surprised. Lots of guys don't like to give signs,
they want to seem tough; you just gotta show him a little
interest, y'know?.. A runner, right? Maybe run with him?"

Saph to avoid crying* )[/I]
A very young Dark Brown Hedgedog, about 1, possibly 2 years old,
suddenly appeared at the entrance to the room and began to
slowly waddle over to the trio. She got about halfway across the
room before she fell and let out a whimper. Surely someone was
going to try and pick her up before she burst into full blown
tears? If they didn't recognise the little girl then perhaps
they'd notice she had similarities to Fem and Robin? The dark
brown fur colour might sing a different tune though.
