Let's go daughter chasin.

[B]"I'm in over my head. But for them to know the truth now,
could tear them, me, and the future from it's hinges."[/B]
It had been some quick thinking from Mariah with retrospect to
rocket jump out of Robin's attempted trap and thinking to close
her eyes to avoid giving away how similar to her mother's eyes
her eyes were. But now she was on the run from the two people
who in the future knew her best. Looking back she could see her
mother's light blue had taken to the rooftops.
[B]"No surprise there. So dad must be on the ground."[/B] She
wasn't wrong.
A left turn, a right turn, heading straight on, narrowly dodging
obstacles. Fem still had her in sight.
But how was Robin doing?

It was at times like this Robin wished he could run as fast as
his best pal, Sapphire, but he couldn't so time to improvise.
He glanced from Fem up on the roofs, to where he was running,
then to his right wrist, he pulled it up with the intension to
use his device to aid them in stopping Mariah, a massive slap in
the face to Robin when he was reminded that he didn't currently
know where his device was. He let out a rather
annoyed/frustrated growl seeing it not there, it itched at him
like a flea, the fact that it wasn't there, he needed it there!
It always was there!
He caught a glimpse of Mariah's tail going left up ahead, so he
picked up the pace, using the energy he had gotten from Fem's
kiss earlier, he followed along behind Mariah, tailing her,
left, right, straight on, dodging obstacles all the way.
He had an urge to get on all fours and chase her, it could be
faster... Eh nah.
They couldn't keep going like is though now could they? They
could possibly be chasing her all day, what a way to spend a
valentines day huh? ;D
Robin's eyes widened as he half stuffed up dodging an obstacle,
he got over it, but hit it also luckily it didn't fall, he
sighed with relief that no negative outcome came out of that,
but still, he hadn't caught this girl yet.
So what could he do to catch her?
He couldn't use his device, he didn't have it, he was half
taking in his surroundings and half focusing on Fem and Mariah
it could take a while to work out where he was to take short
cuts to get her, and she could just rocket jump again, Hey!
Maybe he could use the rockets in his boots! Wait, they where
gone too... Damn it.
If Fem had any ideas in store, he'd love to hear them.

Luck was about to turn for the chasers of the hedgedog, as a
certain Heavy Weapons Guy was just down the road.
Meanwhile Fem had skirted off from properly chasing Mariah and
gone in search of Heavy, suspecting that he would be where we
would be, and lo and behold. Taking a leap at one building she'd
misjudged and completely missed the building.
[I]"Ohhh Sh*BEEP*... HEAVY! ABOVE YOU!"[/I]
Heavy looked up and let out

/>panicked sound[/URL] before lumbering forward and attempting

catch her.
He only just managed to catch the hedgefox before she could
splatter into the ground. Fem let out a relieved sigh.

Heavy put her down then held out his left hand in a gun shape
before going

Fem wandered into the middle of the pathway that they were on.

Heavy quickly lumbered over into the middle of the pathway next
to his sniping mercenary companion.

as it was just him and Fem.
For the moment.
Mariah looked backwards, while Fem had disappeared from her view
she knew her dad was still chasing her, she looked back in the
direction that she had been running.
[B]BAM![/B]
Fem had predicted Mariah coming in this direction and had Heavy
stand in the middle of the path to bring her to a halt.
[I]"Hook, line and fine red mist."[/I]
Mariah bounced off of the giant bear and fell onto her back. Her
eyes widened at the sight of the giant bear and her mother.
[I]"Heavy this Soldier is no spy"[/I]
Mariah tried to back away on all fours, looking scared witless,
but Fem pulled out her rifle and aimed at her. [I]"Don't
move."[/I]
Mariah could hardly believe it! Her own mother was pointing her
rifle at her.
Tears filled Mariah's big blue eyes as she whimpered, and Fem
literally melted inside.
The way she teared up, the look of fear in her eyes, the whimper
that came out of her, the other similarities that she could see
between this girl and herself from just the front. They
literally mirrored her. She couldn't possibly shoot her. She
felt like she'd be shooting herself to do so.
[B]"You don't understand."[/B] was all Mariah could mutter
through her tears at the moment.

Someone from behind Mariah would pick her up by the scruff of
her neck, which wouldn't hurt, especially since she had canine
in her, and that was usually where canines (puppies especially)
are picked up from by other dogs.
Robin had picked her up shortly after Fem had aimed her rifle at
the girl and Mariah had froze, he lifted her off of her feet so
she could not go anywhere.
Robin huffed and puffed for a few moment, trying to catch his
breath before speaking.
"What don't we understa-" He almost dropped her and fell over.
Finally he got a close up look of her face, and it almost made
him pass out, she looked like a mixture of him and Fem, it was
easy to tell, fur colour of him but as light as Fem, bright blue
eyes, the fur markings, double tails, pinks plotted black nose.
Robin looked at Fem.
His head felt light and black dots where appearing everywhere,
he shook his head, now was not the time to pass out Robin.
"You... She....We... What!?" He looked to Mariah and positioned
himself so that, he was still holding her by the back of her
neck but she could see him, and he could see her, "How?.." He
muttered before frowning slightly, "You have got a lot of
explaining to do Young Lady!" He said in a tone that sounded
like he was a father asking something of his child, he then
looked back at Fem and Heavy, looking up at the Giant Bear, "Oh,
Uhh, Who's your friend?" He asked Fem, shooting Heavy a nervous
smile.

Heavy took a step to the side and sat down on his seat, he put
his minigun under his left arm, right arm to anyone facing him,
namely Robin. [I]"I am Heavy Weapons Guy."[/I] Heavy then pulled
the minigun from out under his arm and held it up in front of
the trio. Fem ran a hand through her hair. Heavy did the same
thing every time he was asked for introductions. [I]"And this,
is my weapon. She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires
two hundred dollar custom tool cartridges at ten thousand rounds
per minute."[/I] Heavy stood up holding his minigun up to about
his chest. [I]"It costs four hundred THOUSAND dollars, to fire
this weapon... For [B]tweeelve, seconds.[/b]"[/I] Heavy then
proceeded to burst out laughing.
[I]"He's said this a hundred odd times and I still, don't know
what a dollar is."[/I] Fem thought to herself.

Mariah's face went from upset to near panic as Robin picked her
up. She was used to being in trouble when picked up like this.
Only this was a different kind of 'in trouble'. She was wiping
her tears away as Robin got a good look at her.
And she knew there and then that she was in a [B]very[/B]
problematic position.
She could easily point the Rocket Launcher in his face and make
him drop her, after all, she was aware that when her parents
first met, her dad was something of a nervous wreck.
But what if he didn't bite?
It would be best to try a calmer, more logical approach before
trying a brute force approach.
[B]"Mind telling me what's to explain?"[/B] she asked him,
trying to play dumb. [B]"And I can't say I'm too fond of being
held like this."[/B] she notably also put on the same face as
her mother when Heavy did his Introduction. She'd heard it a
hundred times in her time.

Robin eyed the minigun as Heavy introduced himself and it. What
a weapon... This guy must have a lot of money on his hands to be
paying that much for it.
When Heavy finished and bursted out laughing, Robin gave a
nervous laugh himself, "Nice to meet you Heavy, I'm Robin" He
said briefly before his attention went back to Mariah.
She seemed to panic when he picked her up, but seeing her wipe
away tears made his insides melt and his ears lower, Awwww...
Focus!
When she started to play dumb, Robin didn't look very impressed,
"Don't play dumb with me Squirt!" He said loudly giving her a
little, gentle shake, he was trying to be authoritative but not
in a mean way, in a more gentle way, he thought it best that
way, if you're too rough then that's just cruel.
"You're not suppose to be fond of how you're being held when
you're in trouble, missy, that's why you're being held like
this" He then couldn't help himself, his free hand shot up and
he attempted to wipe away any left over tears from her face, a
warm smile on his own face as he did so.
"Explain Yourself" He repeated, before looking to Fem,
"Madeliene, who did you think she was? what was that name you
called out? Why'd we need to chase her down?" He looked to
Mariah, "Then you can explain who you really are"

[B]"You know, the fact that you're talking to me like I'm a
little kid [B]really[/B] doesn't convince me to answer anything
that I know the answer to."[/B]
Fem let out a sigh at the turn of events. She'd clicked on to
just who they were dealing with, and it was taking all of her
power not to cry, yank her poor daughter out of her father's
grip and hug her to death. It would be evident in her voice as
it was breaking up. [I]"I-I mistook her for Carina. She's a full
blown Hedgefox th-that's been..."[/I] there was a tear coming
into her eye but she managed to push it away. Fem was fighting
to keep herself stable. [I]"Been helping a girl obsessed with
Madness to the point that she is causing h-him trouble. But
getting a closer look I can see how wrong I was."[/I] Fem let
out a sniff.
"Mum's fighting an uphill battle." Mariah thought to herself.
"If I don't get out of here soon enough though the damage is
going to be much much more."
She decided it was time to try and play the peaceful ace.
[B]"Look. I figure you're far too stubborn to play ball with me
here but I'll give you a chance to avoid a [I]very[/I] dangerous
situation. You [I]have[/I] to let me go. If you don't, the
damage factor will be beyond controlling."[/B] why use one ace
when you can use two? [B]"Besides. Look at her."[/B] the
hedgedog pointed towards Fem. [B]"Your sweetheart is tearing up
at this development, if you want to make her happy, you'll let
me go."[/B] It felt weird to Mariah calling her mother
'sweetheart', most of the time it was her mother calling
[B]her[/B] sweetheart. But hey, deadly situations cause unusual
changes.

"I talk to most that are younger then me like they're kids
because to me, they somewhat are, and you are younger than me
now aren't you? sorry kiddo" He said, with a teasing smile,
hearing that it made her not want to answer to him because of
this made him huff slightly, "Didn't your parents ever tell you
to respect your elders?" He questioned, which is funny really
because, well, you know who her parents are, let's not spoil it
for Robin, huh?
When Fem sighed Robin's attention snapped right back to her.
His ears flattened right back hearing her voice crack and
struggle in speech, when she sniffed Robin silently gasped, his
eyes wide with worry.
He looked to Mariah as she spoke, raising an eyebrow at her,
when she said the 'sweetheart' part Robin looked really worried
again however, the kid had a point.
But her 'demanding' tone mixed with how stubborn Robin can get
at times didn't tick well together, "'You have to let me go'?
You are in no position to demand anything of anyone else at the
moment here Squirt" He put one hand on his waist standing up
tall in his suit, "Now I don't like my questions unanswered, and
you've been given questions and haven't answered them. Another
question to add to your plate, if you are not Carina, then why
did you run from Madeliene and I?" His eyebrow shot up again,
"Now I'm going to set you down, then I'm going to cheer up my
'Sweetheart', and you're going to wait right where I put you
down until we're ready before answering the questions you've
been given, do you understand?" He said firmly, not quite
picking up that Fem was tearing up at the sight of Mariah, he
thought she was upset because Mariah was not who she was looking
for.
"And to make sure you stay there-" He placed Mariah down,
letting go of the scruff of her neck "-My device will make sure
you stay where you are until you're required-" He threw out his
right arm and tapped his right wrist, blinking for a few moments
as he just stood there in a slight pose, aiming his right arm at
Mariah, tapping at his bare right wrist, he then growled and
covered his face.
His device wasn't there. Still. Right.
He huffed angrily and pointed at her, "Just. Do me a favour
and... Stay." He said, raising his hands as he backed away from
her, before turning to Fem, pulling her close and stroking her
face, his hands on her cheeks incase any tears fell, "Hey
Beautiful~ What's the matter? If it's Carina, I could help you
hunt her down if you want me too" He offered, looking at her
eyes, his tail wrapping around her legs for comfort.
At the moment Robin seemed to be still in a rather confident
mood, or at least seemed to be, because let's be honest here, if
he was in his usual mood, he would hesitated every action he did
just now at the very least.

Mariah wasn't sure what to say really. Looked like her patience
had paid off as Robin put her down. [B]"You want some answers?
Okay here's an answer or two. The name is Mariah, and yes, my
parents [I]did[/I] teach me to respect my elders! you just don't
know it yet. Look up a little thing called 'DarkScale', and
while you're at it, remember how your earliest memory is of
being in a basket and picked up by your adopting parents? Find
out about something called Udumo. You might just find your real
parents, dad!"[/B] and as soon as she had called him 'dad' she
took off at full speed. A speed checker would clock her at about
269mph. No way Robin could keep up with that without some kind
of speed boost. Would be child's play to Fem though.
Speaking of Fem, she let out one more sigh seeming to be picking
herself up as Mariah had gone. Mariah had mentioned DarkScale.
And this convinced Fem. [I]"She's not Carina, far from it. The
looks, her crying face, the tail double, the speck of sass in
her voice... Robin, the dream. Think back to it."[/I] Fem wanted
to see if Robin could put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Mariah brought herself to a stop about 8 or 9 streets away, she
knew that her mother had the brains to make two and two on who
she was, but she also knew that Fem wouldn't make a song and
dance about it. She'd maybe look for her when she got time away
from Robin, ask her a few questions, and want to treat her like
a daughter. [I]"Here's hoping Robin doesn't figure it out."[/I]
Mariah thought to herself. [I]"If he knows, it could strain
their current relationship."[/I]
