Cafe Cool-Down

Natasha was happily leading Sapphire and Shoke through town; odd
how the girl who had only just started hanging around town was
the one leading the pack, but it could be worse. As the cafe
came into view, she smiled and gave her stomach a light pat; she
was still pretty hungry, even after those three chilidogs and
large drink. Still, there was a noticeable clanking coming from
her waist, as she had picked up the sack of rings that Shoke had
originally dropped. She opened the door, holding it open with
her foot for the other two before looking to the tables and
chairs set about outside; "I like to come to this place to
unwind sometimes; they've got coffee, tea, lemonade, punches,
and there's also the pastries..." She licked her lips as she
said that word. "Mmm... Pastries..."

At one table they would spot a giant, fuzzy bear eating away at
one of those pastries that Natasha had mentioned. Chewing away
with a hearty

/>NOM NOM. OM NOM."[/URL][/I] he soon enough got up, and a bit
of
a problem became obvious in that the chair was stuck to his
behind. He didn't seem to let it bother him, though he surely
would be turning heads with it, (if the chair didn't turn heads
then surely the giant minigun he carried would) as he wandered
back inside to the cafe interior to order another pastry, or
maybe even a sandwich. If Sapphire, Natasha and Shoke were
already in the queue he'd be right behind them.

Sapphire had followed after Natasha all the way with Shoke in
her arms, since she didn't want him walking on his limp.
The blue hedgehog smiled to Natasha as she held the door open,
Sapphire went on in, bringing the yellow lynx with her, "Thanks
'Tash" She smiled to her feline friend, before turning back to
face the front, "Well I think Natasha knows what she's getting,
I've got a brief idea, what are you getting Shoke? Any ideas?"
She asked, giving him a light shake.
She then turned back, her mouth opened to ask Natasha something,
only she stopped upon seeing Heavy, he made her look really
small.... And feel that way too.
She slunk back, standing out of his way so he could go in line
before them, hey hadn't really gotten all their orders down yet
anyway, this big guy seemed to know what he wanted on the other
hand.
She looked to his big mini gun, and Shoke, if he hadn't managed
to get out of her hands by now, would feel her grip on him
tighten, as if she was holding him but also trying to hug the
lynx at the same time.

Heavy noticed that Sapphire and company were letting him go in
front of them so he stopped and patted Sapphire on the head
saying

/>you."[/URL][/I] before wandering to the counter. The person on
the counter looked a little pale as Heavy wandered upwards.
Heavy put a finger to his chin for a few seconds before pointing
upwards.

order putting for the till person who hastily retreated to
behind a door and came back about half a minute later with a
sandwich.

up the sandwich holding his minigun with his other hand somehow.
He looked at Sapphire, Natasha and Shoke, said

Shoke wasn't exactly enjoying being carried around by Sapphire
like he's some sort of backwards Knight in Shining Armour thing.
Ridiculous...
"Can you PLEASE let me walk on my own? It's just a slight limp,
jeez..."

Sapphire smiled at being patted on the head, "No problem!" She
said happily back to him, as he went to the counter.
She smiled more hearing what the large bear had said to the
people at the counter, although she nervously eyed off that mini
gun of his.
When he looked to the three again and said Goodbye in another
language she looked to Natasha and Shoke for a moment before
assuming he had said some form of 'goodbye' as he had walked
back outside after he'd said it.
When Shoke snapped at her she frowned, "I try to be nice..." She
sighed before taking her hands out from supporting him,
literally dropping him to the floor, not gently placing him down
like she could've done. "There? Happy?".
She then mumbled something under her breath but said the words
too fast and too quiet for anyone else to here, giving Shoke a
bit of a look as she did, before she looked away, and took a few
steps away from him, crossing her arms and tapping her right
foot, staring down at her boots.

Natasha smiled as the bear came along and happily left with his
sandwich... well, 'sandvich' in his head, but it was pretty much
the same thing. Still, she couldn't help but roll her eyes as
Sapphire dropped Shoke on the floor; "Dear chaos, you two just
aren't going to stop, are you?.." She glanced to the display
case near them, filled with brownies and cookies and other
assorted baked sweets, the inside of her mouth collecting saliva
as she had to prevent herself from drooling. "Well, I know what
I'm getting, so it's just you two." She approached the counter
with a smile, speaking politely, "One large mocha latte with
cream, and two macarons, please!" As the order was collected,
she simply set the rings on the counter. "Here you are, miss;
have a nice day." "Thank you; you too!"
As she brushed past Sapphire and Shoke, she said a quick
whisper; "I'll go find a table for us; take your time, guys."

Shoke hit the ground with a slight thud. He stood up and brushed
himself off.
"Thank you." Shoke said with an immense snark. He walks over to
the counter and begins ordering a triple bacon burger with all
the fixings as a combo.
"Here ya go!" He hands the person at the counter rings and gets
ready to get his order.

Sapphire looked to Natasha and smiled, "Nope!~" She answered,
putting her hands on her hips, as she watched her friend
approach the counter and get her order out of the way.
"You're welcome~" Sapphire cooed back to Shoke's snarky 'Thank
you'.
The blue hedgehog nodded to Natasha at what she whispered as she
brushed past, "We'll be with you in a minute 'Tash".
Now it was just her and Shoke left to order their food and
drinks.
She stood aside and let the lynx order before her, mainly
because she didn't know what she was going to get anyway, but
also subconsciously to be polite.
Sapphire bit her lower lip as she watched him hand over the
rings, she still hadn't decided what to have herself, and Shoke
just had to have his food ready and out to him before she would
be alone at the counter. She may be fast on her feet, but her
decisions where no where near as fast.
Watching the people behind the counter get to work on his order
before she hesitantly moved so that she was standing beside him,
scanning the menu boards that displayed what food they had
available, she considered getting a treat like Natasha had, but
they where full of sugar, and too much sugar was NOT good at all
for this hedgehog.
So she stuck with getting another Chilidog, which she ordered
and payed for when the counter person returned.
Now she just had to wait... With Shoke... She crossed her arms
again and stared down at her boots giving a silent huff, as she
waited beside him.

This wait was killing Shoke. Not only was this girl a pain in
the butt, but she was also being difficult by being a snarky
brat, But... something was off about her. He couldn't read her
like he could read most people here... something was wrong.
He looked at her while he rested against the wall, waiting for
his food.
"Order 17 is up!" The woman at the cashier put out his order. He
picked it up and headed for where the cat girl was sitting. As
he sat down, something happened... a voice in his head...
"You don't know why... you'll never know why... but someday...
you will." The voice whispered in his head. He sat down across
from the cat, solemnly and focused on what the heck the voice
was.
"..."
