[DCM Outpost #40196, Planet Krontei] Putting the pieces together

On the other end of the portal that Fem and Robin came out, the
duo would land in what looked like a workshop. A few tools were
scattered here and there across a workbench smack bang in the
middle of the room with a large pile of metal just waiting to be
used sitting in the far left of the corner, there was still
space to move around the whole room though, easily enough space.
there was a window on the left, right, and in front of the
workbench, the one in front had already been pushed to the side
and was open, it seemed to let in a slight breeze. Outside, in
the left and right windows was the green of grass, brown of
trees, and the blue of a lake in the distance on the right one,
the one in front had buildings in it though, it was dark on the
front window too. How odd!
Fem was laughing at Robin pulling her into the portal as he had.
She was underneath him and all smiles as they came to a stop on
the wooden floor. [I]"You brilliant Goof. <3"[/I] she whispered
to him, leaning up and kissing his lips before laying there,
waiting for him to get up off of her.

"Mmmmmm <3" Robin's eyes rolled back in joy at Fem leaning up
and planting a sweet kiss on his lips after he'd hugged her and
jumped through the portal with her.
When she payed back down underneath him, waiting for him to
move, at first he didn't he stayed where he was, on top of her,
smiling down at her for a few moments before giving a happy sigh
and slowly getting off of her and to his feet. Once up he knelt
back down taking her hands and pulling her up, giving her
another hug before finally letting her go and looking around the
room.
His eyes lit up seeing the workbench with tools and the large
metal pile in a corner, it was calling to him! He needed to use
it! And use it he would.
He scrambled over to the workbench first, checking the quipment
he had to use before dashing over to the metal pile,
"Ooohhoohooo~" He cooed, biting down on his lower lip as he
wriggled his fingers in the air excitedly.
"This is brilliant!" Robin said, as he held on to a piece of
metal and looked back over his shoulder at his beloved, outside
the windows was peaceful too and there was a breeze and ah!
There was only one main thing missing.
Well two, but he was sure Sapphire would be fine back at BLU
base. The main thing really missing here? Mariah. His ears
lowered slightly at the thought of her and he looked back at the
part in his hand, but the metal reminded him of the rocket gun
Mariah had used to rocket hop herself away after giving him that
look and those words...
Funny, mostly anyone else could've said the same thing she had
to him and he would've shrugged it off, simple. But Mariah...
Robin frowned and scooped up an arm full of metal before turning
back and bring it over to the bench. He'd make it up to Mariah.
He would! He wouldn't rest until he did!
He began sorting out which parts he believed would best fit
where to what he planned to build, as he did so he would glance
up to Fem, he still wasn't sure of what had happened to her
while she was gone. Maybe she wouldn't mind that while they
where both working here that they talked too? Only one way to
find out.
"So while I was gone. M..Mariah threw a time bubble at you and
sent you to her time huh? What was that like? Any clear reasons
as to why she's hopping around in this time?".

Fem was over at the window as Robin asked her what the future
had been like for her. The fact that he'd asked and knew that
was where she'd been was questionable, but considering Pontiac
had jumped in, she had figured out that Ceil and the Mediators
were involved, so Ceil or Pontiac would have told him what was
going on with her. [I]"Well, I didn't really see much of
it."[/I] she said back to him, her rifle by her side which she
pointed out of the window. She turned back to face him for a
second, her smile there again. [I]"Future You is muscly."[/I]
she pointed out with a giggle. [I]"Well, [B]some[/B] muscle
anyway."[/i] she told him before turning back to her Rifle and
the window, it seemed that they were right next to a target
practice range, solid holographic images of a Purple Hedgefox,
Orange Hedgehog, Black Panther, Red Mongoose and a Dark Green
Wolf began running around what looked like an AstroTurf.
[I]"Yes the Faction have made quite the reputation amongst
Madness' friends as you can quite plainly see..."[/I]
[I]"Ceil set us up this area."[/I] Fem would explain to Robin as
she started firing at the targets. A counter appeared above the
window and started counting up as she shot and hit. She had 3
within 10 seconds, then again, was it surprising? Probably to
Robin, as, while Fem had shown she had the Rifle when they first
met in Knothole, she hadn't actually shot it. [I]"Made it so
that you can see me while you work and I'm kept preoccupied
too."[/i] she told back to him, [I]"As for why Mariah came back
to us, I don't know. But when she said what she did earlier on
though Robin, I don't think she was as mad as she was trying to
come across as, she obviously wanted to get somewhere, and
leaving someone guilt stricken or thinking is a good way to stop
them from stopping you. I should know, I used to use the trick
on my mother all the time before..."[/I] Fem's ears would fall
at this point, but nevertheless she continued pinging off
targets, her point counter increasing shot by shot. [I]"Do you
think Mariah might be hiding something from us my sweet?"[/I]
she asked him, trying to change the topic.

Robin listened to Fem as she went to the window with her rifle
and began her 'target practise'. Robin noticed that the targets
looked just like real mobians, pretty specific too, but he
himself hadn't seen the target mobians before so it didn't faze
him too much.
He paused, looking up at her as she turned around and smiled
announcing that Future Him was muscly, the way she smiled and
giggled about it made him wear a rather goofy smile, "What? And
I'm not muscly now?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, of course he
knew how Sapphire would answer that one, which made him shake
his head, but Sapphire wasn't here, "Weights and workout gear
could be something I put into a routine for me to do for you my
love if muscles is what you want to really see on me" He said
with a nervous smile. He'd never really thought about this kinda
thing until now, and to be honest, he didn't know much in it, he
did know though that you had to work hard to get them. Oh boy.
But Fem was worth it for sure.
He continued to listen to Madeliene as she shot her targets, and
began to start working with the tools, making something for
Mariah was up first, then he could make something for Fem too!
But what would Mariah want? Him to leave her alone was the most
obvious answer that came to his mind first but he couldn't
really make that. He closed his eyes and gave a sigh. He didn't
know. He just didn't know what she might want from him that he
could build her. Or at least, not yet.
He focused on listening to Fem instead, dropping his gear at her
ears lowering and moving behind her to gently rub her shoulders
as she continued her target practise. It was nice watching her
point counter go up and up and up, "You are an amazing shot~" He
cooed, resting his chin on her shoulder for a moment, before
returning to the workbench, "She could be. What's something you
might not quite feel comfortable telling your parents about at
her age thou-" His ears shot up, "Hmmmm.... Naaaah, Mariah isn't
one to- She wouldn't- She doesn't seem like the kind that would-
Uhahaha" He rubbed a hand behind his head for a moment, tapping
his fingers on the workbench, "Speaking of the Little Angel,
what do you think she might want from her dad? I.. I could build
her something to make up for what I did and said! Maybe she
wants a plane, I always wanted a plane when I was fifteen, yeah,
I could build her, her own plane" Robin nodded with a confident
smile, forgetting the fact that Mariah probably didn't know HOW
to fly a plane.

[I]"Puh-leeeeease~!"[/I] Well, Robin's offer to work on getting
himself some muscles seemed to be one that she was fond of.
Robin rubbing her shoulders was also a good move too, as she was
somewhat upset by the memories that had come back to her. Her
mother, the three she had crushed on, and to be honest, after
having her Darkscale ripped out of her, she could use a rest.
The pain from it had subsided back in the future, but it still
left her drained. A hammock appeared to her right which she
jumped into after Robin said she was a good shot. The counter
turning itself off and the 'targets' disappearing.
[I]"Yeah..."[/I] she said to him, closing her eyes.
[I]"Yeah..."[/I] she was about to comment on what he intended to
make for Mariah but there was a knock at the door, causing Fem
to let out a sigh. [I]"We're up in a treehouse. How can anyone
be knocking on the door?"[/I] she asked, mainly herself.
Two more knocks, yep, someone was there.

The enthusiasm in her 'please' at the muscles part was sure
enough to let Robin know she wanted some muscles on him, which
did kind of make him feel a bit 'scrawny', 'weak' and 'skinny'
since he practically had no muscles currently and she clearly
wanted some, it never really bothered him that he wasn't visibly
'strong' before, he knew he was smart so he didn't really need
that brawn, but now that Fem wanted it...
He looked to his right wrist and was going to have Veronica form
some holographic pixel muscles on him so he could maybe make Fem
laugh, but he was only reminded that he did not have his device
back yet. No Device. No Veronica. He wondered where she was and
what she was doing right now...
Robin watched Fem go over to the hammock, from the workbench and
had half a thought to go over and be a blanket or something for
her, to lay there with her. But then there was a knock on the
door, he frowned and looked at Fem before looking at the door,
"I'll get it Beautiful~" He smiled to Fem before leaving the
workbench to stride over to the door, a hand on the handle he
opened the door and gave a bow, "Robin Meadows here, how may I
help you?" He asked before finally standing back up to look at
who it was at the door.

The light sound of two tails being used as a propellor would
fill Robin's ears as he opened the door.
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"Hi Robin."[/I][/glow]
[I]"Millie?"[/I] Fem had ended up flipping her hammock, hitting
the floor with a soft [B]THUD[/B] before getting back up.
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"A Psychic asked me to deliver
this."[/I][/glow] flying up a little higher revealed that Millie
was carrying the unconscious Veronica disguised as Madness whom
she then dropped onto the wooden floor before landing herself on
the wooden floor.
[I]"Is that-"[/I] [glow=yellow,2,300][I]"No
actually."[/I][/glow] that was enough to confuse the Hedgefox.
Millie ended her attention to Robin.
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"According to Ceil, as she says she's
called, you own a device with an A.I called Veronica, and this
is her with a disguise on."[/I][/glow]
[I]"So why's she unconscious?"[/i]
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"I don't know, I didn't see, I just took
what options I had and picked him up after Luna kicked him her
out of the car and drove off."[/i][/glow] Millie then turned
back to Robin. [glow=yellow,2,300][I]"I think she shut herself
off. Would you be able to turn her back on Robin? An A.I that
acts as a fully blown Mobian sounds absolutely incredible and I
hope to see it in action."[/I][/glow] Fem had gone quiet at this
point, heading back over to the window and rebooting her
shooting practice.

Robin blinked a few times, everything else of him seeming frozen
upon seeing Millie, once he got past that stage he held up a
hand, his mouth open an inch while a slight confused frown sat
upon his face. Was she? She looked like... Nah.
He looked back hearing the soft thud and if Fem hadn't of gotten
up he would've rushed over the second afterwards.
He looked surprised at seeing 'Madness' in Millie's arms, he
remembered the hedgefox way back from when he first landed in
this timeline, he along with Madeliene saved him from drowning
in Knothole lake.
Robin's ears went up hearing that Ceil had actually told Millie
of Veronica and this was her in a Madness disguise. Robin knelt
down to the disguised A.I. And turned her to be laying on the
back, sure enough, her device was there on her right wrist.
He put a hand on her bottom jaw and moved her head about, as if
examining her, satisfied with that check up he then check her
eyes, carefully and gently lifting the eyelids open, the eyes
underneath where still Madness' green and blue ones, but as
Veronica was switched out they where faded and dull.
Robin slid his arms underneath Veronica's disguised body and
lifted her up into his arms, bringing her over to the workbench
and setting her down there before working again, glancing over
to Millie, "I think I can, I'll have to of course fully check
her for all of her damages, I've only so far noticed a few, but
I think I can get her back up and running" He said, running a
hand through his hair, a smile coming to his face hearing
Millie's interest "Oh? Uhah" He gave a light laugh, glancing
over to see Fem start up her shooting practise again, a smile on
his face at just seeing her there.
His attention went back to Millie, "You're more than welcome to
come and uh, watch me work if you wanted to, I don't mind" He
said with a slight shrug before he slid the device off of
Veronica's wrist, "Let's get this off first" He said to himself
as he hit a few buttons and a line of light ran over the
disguised body, turning 'Madness' back into Veronica.
"Okay, let's get you back in here so you can- Oh, Uh, okay
that's not what we wanted" He said as the device beeped in
protest at him at trying to put Veronica back into her device.
"Do you know why exactly she was disguised as Madness, Millie?"
He asked as he pressed a finger against the right side of the
top of Veronica's chest, a smooth rounded side square panel
opening up as if she where a robot and had consoles inside. As
soon as this opened though one of Veronica's hands snapped up
and around Robin's arm, which caught him by surprise, she then
proceeded to throw Robin across the room, he skidded on his face
and landed right beside Fem, his tail flopping over and covering
his face. He gave a groan as he sat up and got back to his feet,
heading back over to Veronica, who tried to grab him again, he
took her hand and squeezed it three times, "It's okay Minty.
It's me. It's Robin, Okay?" He said softly, she dropped her arm
back down by her side afterwards. "It's good to know something's
are still working, don't worry, I'll get you working again"
"Zzzt*...R..R..---*__Alt..." She managed to say, her mouth
barley opening, "Alt, yes, Alterations to your shut down defence
programme are needed huh? You threw me across the room before I
got the chance to tell you it was me messing with your systems"
Robin said as he sat on the side of the workbench, giving the
device a fiddle. Veronica however seemed to have other plans and
things on her rebooting mind, a point hadn't gotten across it
seemed as she repeated herself, trying to be more clearer
"zzxxxTTT* A-A-a__Alter-nate-nate-nate*Rrrrkkkk**
Ma-Ma-Ma-Maaaaadness*__" Robin gave her a confused look but
didn't think much on it, but maybe it meant more to Millie
and/or Madeliene?

Fem and Millie's eyes met as soon as the A.I mentioned
'Madness'.
[I]"I'm not the only one who heard that, right?"[/I] Fem asked
her two tailed cohort.
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"Not really."[/i][/glow] Millie pointed
out to her. [glow=yellow,2,300][I]"She was referencing Alt. but
why? Why Alternate Madness? Why that brute who's tried to kill
my boy several times?"[/I][/glow] Millie wasn't all that fond of
Alt.
[I]"He [B]is[/b] technically his anti and Scourge's son Mills. I
despise his sexual obsession about as much as you, but being
fair, can you really blame him?"[/I] this caused Millie to let
out a sigh. Fem wandered over to Robin, Millie sitting over on
the hammock. [I]"Check her memory Robin, it sounds like your
AI's had a run in with a certain unpleasant someone involved in
our crew..."[/I]

Robin looked up and over at Fem and Millie as they reacted to
what Veronica had said, it seemed to had set the both of them
off a bit and Robin frowned worriedly at the device, if this
untrustworthy Alt person wasn't liked by both Fem, his beloved
and one of her trusted friends, Millie, and had gotten their
hands on his device, his A.I. Who know what kind of damage
Veronica could've taken from him.
Robin's panic metre rose hearing that this Alt person had tried
to kill Madness multiple times and he almost hit the roof at Fem
saying she despised his breeding obsession, "His what?!" He was
almost too afraid to check back in Veronica's memory banks, if
this Alt guy had laid one bad finger on his A.I....
"Scourge son, huh?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow, "I've met
a Scourge child a few times before, she's not the nicest either,
in fact, I'm pretty certain she is actually insane but I don't
see her often enough, and I kinda like it that way, Uhah" Robin
said, "She also puts me off of being around my own best friend
for weeks, since it's her anti and all, but I know they're not
the exact same person so it wears off" He explained.
Robin then nodded to Fem when she had wandered over to him, "On
it" He said as he turned his attention back to the device.
He had her memory banks opened up in seconds, projecting out the
screen so that Millie and Fem could also see before clipping the
device to his wrist and walking over to the projected screen and
pressing 'play' so that it would play through Veronica's
memories from her point of view.
It started with her being brought back online by Alt, at first,
a blank black screen with the words [Loading] before starting
right when she jumped out of the device to Alt singing, Veronica
scanned around her before jumping onto Alt and pinning him to
the floor and asking him questions.
This, Robin had to admit, made him feel proud and caused him to
stick out his chest a little bit and shoot a proud grin over at
Fem. This was his A.I. Tackling down Alt, this guy they had
described as nothing nice.
Things where about to shake up however as the new romance
between Alt and Veronica sparked and started to catch fire.
The memory bank video even went to the extent of showing the
thoughts of Alt that Ceil had planted into Veronica's mind.

Robin rubbed his eyes, shook his head and then blinked a few
times, "What? How are HIS thoughts in Veronica's memory banks?
Who put them in there? Why? Are these really his thoughts? I
thought you guys said he was a... You know, that he had an
obsession for breeding, he sounds like he's falling for my A.I.
To me" Robin questioned looking puzzled and from Fem to Millie,
not noticing Veronica move her head to the side and slightly
open her eyes to watch her own memory banks be played out in
front of three other people.

Despite being pinned down and bombarded with questions, Alt
still seemed calm, he didn't attack her on anything and
continued with the act of that he had love for Veronica. Robin
wasn't sure if this was a ruse, an act to lure his A.I. In or if
this breeding addict had actually found his right match.
A smile curved onto Veronica's lips hearing Alt say those words
again.
Soon Michael came into view and Alt warped Veronica out of harms
way, dealing with Michael whom simply answered back with a 'You
love her' leaving Alt shocked.
Veronica would soon reapproach Alt, whom now had on her device,
and ask him where she was needed for assistance which eventually
resulted in the two starting in a dance.
More of Alt's thoughts where dropped onto the screen. This time
a visual one of himself and Veronica sharing a picnic and a kiss
then the line 'I love her' sounding out.
The two where then off and dancing for who knows how long, the
whole time both A.I. And hedgefox putting all they had into each
and every move.

When Alt had became too exhausted to continue both he and
Veronica fell asleep on a bed on the spaceship they where on,
the moment Veronica closed her eyes the screen went black again
and came up with [A.I. Asleep. Fast forward memory until
reactivation?] Robin hit yes, so that it started fast forwarding
but here was still time before it would play again, for the trio
and Veronica to take it all in and have a talk on it. Robin
glanced over at Veronica before back at Millie and Fem, "What do
you two make of that? Real? Or is he faking it to get his dirty
hands on my A.I.?".
