Snow-capped Peaks and a Side of Confrontation

The coordinates Tennym left thankfully weren't that far from
Ajax's home, but they still had spent at least an hour and a
half walking towards the location, currently travelling through
a snowy area area outside of a cold forest, the area was clear
of any trees, and they were starting to get close to the area.
Shoke has said little to nothing during this trip, preferring to
merely follow as he silently worries about Natasha, but soon, an
encounter was upon them.

The sound of servos and compressors gave little opportunity to
hear one's self think, as Ajax strode through the snow with his
armored foot leaving massive prints on the ground. He was
worried about Natasha, yes, but he was confident she would be
fine; he had known her for years, she certainly knew a few
tricks. For now though, they needed to find her; just a little
longer, Tasha, he thought.

Sonic found himself speeding across the frozen wastes as he
wanted to see the snow. He zips across mountains tearing through
the country sides at super sonic speeds. Before long the hero's
progress was slowed as he stumbled into a snow storm. Sonic
skidded to a stop kicking up slush with his atomic relativity
boots. He wasn't quite sure where he was and the white out
wasn't helping. As the snow storm passed he could make out two
figures in the distance. "Hey hold up." He shouted as he zips
over catching up with them. Sonic takes a moment to catch his
breath before addressing the two would be travelers. "You guys
alright after that crazy snow storm?" He inquired as he glanced
up at the sun trying to gage his position on the planet. He
looked noting the power armor one of them was wearing while
scratching the wound in his ear. "Whoa thats some serious
hardware. Expecting to run into trouble out here?"

The sound of a helicopter with two spinning blades spinning away
along with the back rotors began to fill the air, on the side of
it was a symbol of two yellow and white tails that Sonic might
just recognise. On board of it a certain yellow, two tailed
female fox and the black and green hedgehog, Millie and
Hellfire, were heading towards that cabin and getting closer to
flying over the trio with every second.
How they were in a helicopter wasn't hard to guess if you knew
the technological ability of Tails and amplified that by about a
decade or two. The duo had ended up in the 'Sky Chase Zone' as
they flew, and a lot of robots up there seemed to be operational
and prepared to attack Sonic or Tails, and the similarities
between Miles and Millie didn't go down too well with Out of
Date AIs, neither of the duo had ended up hurt thanks to an
onboard minigun, but the biplane had one of its four wings shot
off as they flew through the onslaught. Millie though had
learned from that when her plane had been shot down the first
time and had quickly transformed the plane into 'helicopter
mode' Making it harder to navigate but they didn't have any
other choice without going down. They also lost a second rotor
thanks to another decent shot from a turtlebot, but the rotor on
the front was capable of flying on with two blades or more as
long as the back rotor stayed undamaged. Despite the setbacks,
Hellfire's shooting and Millie's piloting had got the duo
through and there they were now.
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"I'm sorry I didn't have any more of these
left for you Hellfire."[/I] Millie told the hedgehog, now
wearing a parka jacket to offset the temperatures, she actually
looked a bit saddened. [glow=yellow,2,300][I]"If I'd known this
was going to happen..."[/I] a blinking light on the panel of the
helicopter had caught the Fox's attention.
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"Uh, hold on."[/I][/glow] She told him
before turning her focus to the screen. Millie could see the
large power armour of Ajax's on the screen on board the plane's
screen and it had perked her interest. But it was the blue
hedgehog that made a smile come onto her face. [I]"My
Sonikku?"[/I] she thought to herself, very happy to see her
husband, so she thought, her smile faded though at spotting just
who it really was, what with the bullet hole in his ear and all,
and spotting that he was definitely younger than her high speed
husband. [I]"Okay so it's Sonic and not Sonikku."[/I] she
thought. [I]"I can live with that."[/I] her screen would next
show up Shoke and another radar began to blink, her chaos energy
detection radar. [I]"A Chaos Emerald out here?"[/I]
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"Hellfire?"[/I] she said to the hedgehog.
[glow=yellow,2,300][I]"Are we by any chance going after a black
and yellow Hedgehog?"[/I] she could investigate the presence of
the emerald later, so she thought, she hadn't realised that
[B]Shoke[/B] was the energy source.

Cate's heart froze as the blue streak stopped beside them,
staring at him for a good long moment before her lips finally
moved. "Y-You're Sonic... You're Sonic the Hedgehog!" Quickly
she hopped of Ajax's shoulders and zoomed up to him, Smiling
brightly and taking out a notepad and pen. "Can I have your
autograph? You're, like, the whole reason I run!"

"Cate, quiet for a moment..." Ajax's ears twitched for a moment
as the sound of rotors spinning caught his attention. "Someone's
coming..." Not willing to take any chances after having found
Natasha kidnapped, he opened a socket in the armor and pulled
out the pieces of his rifle, putting it together in record time.
As he pulled back the loader, he frowned; "They've already taken
Natasha, I'm not letting them take either of you."

Sonic looked skyward as the helicopter hovered over head. He
started to wonder just what was going on. It was then he noticed
the insignia on the tail piece and was rather confused. "When
did he start modifying choppers?" He asked himself before
stepping back a bit shocked by Cate. "Yeah that's my name." As
soon as she asked for his autograph he smiled snatching up the
pen and paper. Sonic would always make time for somebody who
admired him as it was always a boost to his ego trip. He started
to scribble across the paper before looking up to what he
assumed to be a blue Cat. "Sure thing babe. Who do I make this
out to?" He asked so he could work her name into the message he
was going to write.

Hellfire just got up out of the helicopter, trying to keep
himself standing having to acclimate to standing on solid
ground.
"Yes, why?" He said, then getting a good look at Shoke. He
looked into the yellow and black hedgehogs eyes, seeing the
crimson symbol that represented a genetically created hedgehog.
"You... do you have a name?" Hellfire asked, lowering himself
down to the shorter hedgehogs's level to talk to him eye-to-eye.
The yellow hedgehog nervously looked at him.
"I... don't really have a name... I've been going by Shoke..."
He nervously mumbled. Hellfire held his hand out and smiled at
him.
"Well, you can't be Shoke. You can be a Shoke, but not Shoke. My
name is Hellfire. I'm your brother." He said, ruffling his hair.

As the others approached the group Sonic figured they would
preoccupied so he could share some tips with his fan. He turned
the note book over and saw it read property of Cate. He raised
an eyebrow and wrote the following.
Cate Keep on running, You'll get there someday.
- Sonic
He passed the note book back and looked her up and down noting
the athletic attire. "You said your a runner right? You sure
look the part. How would you like a few pointers? With the
chopper arriving it looks like your friends can give us a
moment." Sonic got into a starting position placing his hands
against the ground, as he grinds his shoes into the snow. "First
key to good running is breathing. The easier you breath the more
wind you'll have while running." Sonic took a deep breath and
exhaled from his nose.
"Then once you are in motion you have to feel the air. Let it
enter your lungs and exit in a singular smooth motion." Sonic
bent his toes turning up his heels gaining a grounding. "Then
you feel the ground beneath your feet. Feel it pushing you up
propelling you forward. You have to be flexible like you have
springs in your heels." After taking a moment to bend his knees
he spoke again. "The most important part of running is your
philosophy. The fuel that keeps you going even when your running
on E. See most people see running as two legs one in front of
the other and forward motion. Thats not what running is, thats
what running needs. What running is, is freedom. The freedom to
be beyond the confines of time or location. If you can picture
it in your head. Your legs can take you there. To be like the
wind. Blowing by one moment only to vanish the next." He smiled
and looked back giving a thumbs up before stating. "Once you
master that.....Well just watch." Sonic said as his heels sprung
him into action kicking him to a start. A split second later the
blue hedgehog created a sonic boom that utterly destroyed the
sound barrier. A few seconds later he came streaking by the
group a total of three times in under a minute. Each time he
passed them he had circled the entire globe once. After running
a ring around the planet a total of three times he skidded to a
stop right before Cate.
He gave a smug smile then placing his hands behind his head as
he kicked the slush from his shoes. "Feel free to write that
down." He told her as he glanced at the chopper wondering what
the deal was.

for."[/I] Millie pointed out happily as Hellfire opened one of
the doors of the helicopter. Millie climbed out of the
helicopter herself after Hellfire had ran over to his 'brother',
Sonic might have saw her getting out of it even. With a spanner
in her hand she began to look over the helicopter, seeing if
there was anything she could do to it with just a spanner, the
amount of chips and scratches in the bodywork from their flight
was more and more disheartening to her the longer she took going
around it and looking at it, as she got back to the
co[B][/B]ckpit she let out a sigh. [glow=yellow,2,300][I]"I
guess it's going to need a complete respray."[/I] she said to
herself, opening one of the doors of the copter and putting the
spanner on the passenger seat. Her thoughts drifting to her
husband and son thanks to the younger version of the blue streak
being around.

Cate nearly squealed as Sonic handed the autograph, but she had
to hold herself down when she heard him mention a few 'tips'.
They were simple, just psychological, but they meant the world
to her to hear her childhood hero say them. "Running is
freedom," she repeated, "and freedom is running!"
She began clapping happily for a moment before being knocked
over by the shockwave of Sonic's speed burst. She brushed the
snow from her fur before being covered in it a second time.
Quickly she widened up and just sat in the snow, too excited to
notice the cold as it piled onto her. When the blue blur skidded
to a stop, she shook the snow off and smiled. "Some day I'll run
that fast, I know it! Thanks, Sonic!" With a surprising
quickness she hugged him for just a split second, her head only
coming up to his chest, before pulling back.
