       Welcome to the Game of Thrones: Ascent House of Dragons forum!
       This forum is the primary home of the Domus Draconus alliance,
       but is designed to be used by all GoT:A players and other
       alliances are welcome to host private discussion boards here as
       well (contact me if you are interested).
       This forum is designed to be as open and transparent as
       possible. The only private boards are the private Alliance
       boards in "The Barracks". Everything else can be seen by both
       guests and registered users and guests are welcome to post
       replies (but not create threads) on all public boards.
       A few things to keep in mind before getting started
       1 - Keep things roughly at a PG-13 level, tops, here.
       2 - This is the internet. While moderators hope to keep most
       things on this board at a PG-13 level, we cannot guarantee that
       every single thing on the forum will be acceptable to all
       members. Report anything that makes you uncomfortable.
       3 - All are free to use any name as your forum username, but
       forum members are required to enter their GoT:A character name
       when registering. If you change your name in-game (due to
       restarting or reincarnation) please update it here  ;)
       4 - Have fun. This forum is made for having fun. Never forget
       that. Never lose sight of that. There are plenty of other places
       on the internet for those who wish to antagonize and troll and
       bring people down on the internet. Keep as much of that as
       possible away from here
       Forum Structure
       The forum is set up into five sections.
       First is The Gate House. Here new members can introduce
       themselves, ask questions, and share information about getting
       started with the forum and game. This is a *heavily moderated*
       board, meaning that anything off-topic, rude/antagonistic, and
       inappropriate will (hopefully) be dealt with by the moderators
       swiftly.
       Next is The Keep. This portion of the forum for all GoT Ascent
       discussion. It will be *moderately moderated*. This means that
       heated discussion may be allowed, cursing and adult language
       will be allowed within reason- to the extent that personal
       attacks not involved, and threads must remain generally on
       topic. Moderators will be empowered to lock or move threads
       deemed to be too far gone from the original purpose of the
       thread or board.
       Third is The Barracks. This part of the forum is designed to
       host private forum/board space for individual GoT:A alliances.
       The forum administrators can set up usergroups and board
       permissions so that Alliance leaders can ensure that only
       approved forum members are allowed access to their Alliance
       board. Moderation is based on the standards decided by each
       Alliances leader(s)/mod(s) for their board.
       The next board is The Village! The Village is the home for all
       off-topic (non GoT Ascent) discussion. This is a *lightly
       moderated* section of the forum. Moderators will generally not
       review this section for rules violations or topic derailing,
       unless posts/threads are reported for review. The exact
       rules/etiquette for this section of the forum will be developed
       as time goes on, depending on the feeling of the community and
       of the moderation team. This is the only section of the forum
       where some posting above a PG-13 rating may be allowed.
       The last board of the forum is the Ravens. These are quick links
       to various GoT:A resources (and...the game itself). Please
       propose links to be added if you have suggestions.
       Now get posting!
